10 am Friday (Texas): Hurricane HARVEY is strengthening as it closes in on the Texas coast. The eye is a sexy pinhole. It's a small target to chase, but radar suggests it's developing concentric eyewalls, meaning a new, larger eye could emerge from that process. Meanwhile, I'm scrutinizing elevation maps trying to decide where to station myself. This could be a very dangerous hurricane at landfall and I can't f*ck this up. The USA hasn't seen one like this in over a decade. More soon.
P.S. While it isn't my focus, Texans up and down the coast should be aware that the rainfall from HARVEY is forecast to be *extremely* heavy as the cyclone kind of camps out near the coast for a few days. So, even folks that escape the real scary winds could see very dangerous flooding. PLAN ACCORDINGLY.

The combination of heavy rain, "life-threatening" storm surges, flooding and strong winds could leave wide swaths of South Texas "uninhabitable for weeks or months," the National Weather Service in Houston said.

Saw a recent rainfall forecast saying SA will only get 3 inches of rain.
It'd be nice but most forecasts seem to be showing 8-15 inches.

Yeah some of the forecasts are all over the place. I'm out near Boerne. I'm going to be bummed if we don't get any decent rain, we need it.
