I hope I die before I end up in one of those homes.
But, he doesn't care about ( ). All he cares about is keeping that job and that lifestyle and prestige and privilege that goes with it. Win by attrition. It's a great battle strategy. I use it myself. I'm white so it doesn't always work, but, if you're black and have a spot carved out, hunker down, take the hits and the days will pass by.
Amen, Snake.
& they even lost their popcorn machine.
Not good.
Been seeing this info going around. FYI. Get those insurance claims in this week.
http://blog.texasbar.com/2017/08/art...during-harvey/Texas property owners should be aware that House Bill 1774, passed by the 85th Texas Legislature, will change the law regarding how legal actions for certain insurance claims are handled, including some claims for property damages or losses caused by natural disasters. If you need to make an insurance claim related to Hurricane Harvey, you should study how the law may affect you. Claims made before September 1, 2017, will be subject to current law; those filed on or after September 1 will fall under the new law.
Supposedly in the last one telling people to leave led to traffic jams and more people dying while stuck in traffic. At least thats what some tweet I read claimed. who knows if it was true or just some apologist bull
that's true during Rita some people died evacuating
Well what was this mayor saying last Wednesday when Gov Abbott was saying GTFO? I could see telling people to shelter in place yesterday since they already missed the window. My wife's uncle took his family out of Alvin on Wednesday, good thing since their house is flooded now.
Edit: Nevermind, found it
“Even if an evacuation order has not been issued by your local official, if you are in areas by Corpus Christi and Houston … you need to strongly consider evacuating,” Abbott said at a news conference about 1 p.m. Friday.
“If I were living in the Houston region, as I once did, I would decide to head to areas north of there,” he added. “Think of your life first.” However, local officials have been adamant that most area residents do not need to evacuate since the area will likely be hit by rain and flooding but not hurricane winds.

You have to evacuate. If 100 people died trying to drive to ing San Antonio, they need to make a better route. They've had time. You don't fix that by telling people to stay put after being told to evacuate. ing idiots.
