Man I hope RC is on the phone begging Dwayne Wade to come here.
I mean, surely it can't be Sept. 25th. That's not much time before the first preseason game. I would assume it gotta be earlier than that.

Strange how they show old Duncan and young Pop, while Brady and Belichick both look old.
He'll be playing with his butt buddy LeBron by Christmas.

Not going to be allowed to play like that this upcoming season IMO. Back to the corner and deep bench. If that's the case, I hope Pelicans or some team trades for him. That way Spurs might get someone back, some small asset and don't have the issue with his FA. Aggressiveness has been lacking from him but I just really doubt Pop lets him play his game more freely. When he's done that like in the playoffs the results were very different from the RS.

I disagree. I think Pop will give Kyle significant/starter's minutes until/unless Kyle plays himself out of them. With our "big" rotation (especially with Eurotrash, Lauvergne), Kyle looms as an important cog for the Spurs to have a successful season.
And now for your random post of the day.
Yea, there's no way Pop doesn't want him to be aggressive. He just for some reason lacks confidence when he's out there at times. He wants guys to put pressure on the defense. Simmons seemingly had a green light to do so, why would KA be different? The difference between he and Simmons was his tendency to be hesitant and unsure of himself too often. Simmons was more sure of himself and what he wanted to do, even if it was a bit out of control at times.
Pop would be thrilled if even sometimes he played the way he did in that video, especially with his reluctance to shoot consistently. But I agree, I think he'll be given his fair share of time to see what he can do
Simmons is a bad comparison bc he played all season with a set role and is a freak athlete, but he also was a lot more aggressive when he was given some ballhandling. Standing in a corner if shooting is not your thing, more like a complimentary thing to your game will take guys out of their games. Simmons himself was very bad for most of the season with a few exceptions and was starting to lose his spot in the rotation. Some guys do need to be more involved than just spotting up in order to have a rhythm. He's not going to be allowed to play like that when getting him going is not a priority for the team. Mills, Manu and Pau will still get the lionshare of shots and if Bertans is in the bench, his game IS spotting up so he will also get shots. Rudy Gay is a known bucket getter etc.
I think he showed in the playoffs he can do a lot more than spot up and will be aggressive if the other options are ting their pants like they did.
IMO he might be better off elsewhere with more freedom to play his game. Very likely one of the main reasons for Simmons wanting to hitch a ride somewhere else was that he felt restricted. Regardless of all his critics he played better with more of a green light and Kyle did too.
I am skeptical if Pop giving him that light. I expect him back in a corner and elsewhere. He's in a contract year and finished the season playing well both in the RS and playoffs. At least individually there's more to him than meets the eye and we aren't going to see it often unless the hits the fan and there are more injuries than the projected ones or someone falls off a cliff. I am not wishing for any of those things so I expect him in a restricted small role again.
I predict he'll be gone like J.Simms next off-season, so trading him for a small asset might be a good idea. The pelicans are desperate with their need for wings and don't have much of a budget. He'll be gone for nothing like CoJo.
A guard, a ing guard again.

Bigger news is about Blossomgame not getting a two-way or going to Europe yet.
Apparently he signed a D-League contract: http://www.espn.com/espn/now?nowId=2...894403623543-4
Clearing the air on Jaron Blossomgame. Reports on him doing a two-way contract are inaccurate. Blossomgame will be in Austin next season, but on a standard G-League contract I'm told. This is the same type of deal as what happened with Cady Lalanne after the Spurs took him in the second round in 2015.
This dude took 9 minutes to be like....they could be worse, or not.
Yep, that's pretty much the two possibilities bro.
It is hard to make an argument that they'll be better. Tony/Manu/Pau fighting off Father Time, Aldridge and Gay playing close to their prime selves, Kawhi staying Kawhi (or even improving!), are possibilities but nearly impossible taken together.
I agree...the chances of the Spurs being worse are probably bigger than them being better. Parker and Manu will probably be worse to some degree. I think we will still get about the same production from Pau...hopefully having a year in the system will offset any aging declines. Kawhi is hitting his prime and could be even better, which is absolutely unbelievable, but his MO is always to improve his game.
The rest is a bunch of unknowns. I think if Gay is healthy and can play at even 80% of his previous form, that's a huge pickup for the Spurs, maybe even the most underrated move of the offseason considering the price. That alone would offset the losses of Simmons and Dedmon.
The rest is up in the air. Will Bertans be ready to contribute more? Is Murray ready for major action, or does Forbes start stealing his minutes? Will any of the other rooks make a dent in the rotation? Will Anderson ever shoot the goddamn ball? True improvement probably hinges on any number of these factors.
Only time will tell. I still think that barring further injury, the Spurs will be right there in the top 4 when the dust settles...but that Warriors team is still the favorite by a mile.
Not going to be allowed to play like that on any NBA team because he's not good enough. He's going to have to primarily be an off ball player because of that; not because Pop is holding him back.
He'll more than likely be given every opportunity to be the 9th man and be given an extension by the '18 deadline though.
I've beens saying for years now, Kyle is a decent back up 4..He's got enough handles to break down the defense when he's attacking bigs and he's a surprisngly decent rebounder.
All stats both advanced and raw indicate Anderson is a 7th-8th man for a decent team if he plays as a 4.
He's a mess as Leonard's replacement though.
