I was at the game tonight, Murray looked decent but had some stupid turnovers and missed shots/free throws/floaters. Overall I think that was a perfectly acceptable game for him at this stage. Aldridge looked solid, missed some jumpers but hit a couple and did other things. Lovergne looked really good, he was a great passer and showed some moves in the post. Rudy Gay looked good, missed two bring the house down type of dunks but they were well defended and I think it's going to take a while for him to get back in really good shape and get his legs back under him but he's moving very well.

    That's sweet.

And if you told me five years ago that LaMarcus Aldridge and Rudy Gay would be on our team, I'd say you were ing crazy.
And ing Pau Gasol, for that matter.

The Spurs are likely the first thing he thanks in his prayers every night. Like Boban, thanks to the Spurs he is a multi-millionaire. He was hanging out with all the players and coaching staff before the game. I'm sure everyone, especially Pop, is thrilled for he and his family.
That true and a good point. I meant it in the way he’s always going to ball hard and show off against the Spurs, maybe remind Pop if what he’s missing.

I know you championed his cause...He may break out after all. I wish him the best. (Not against the Spurs though, go kill the east conference ).. Is Aaron Gordon looking like he’s going to have a MIP year?

Yeah that's true too. I think everyone is happy for him though. What an amazing story from paying $150 for a tryout with the then Austin Toros to the ultimate dream come true! I think he will give it 110% every time he plays anyone, especially us!!

I had a very similar take. Those were my top three takeaways- LMA is playing great, Lauvergne was assisting and grabbing boards like he wants to make a difference, and Rudy Gay is a damn good addition. The one dunk he almost tomahawked was indeed contested, but it still obvious that this guy is the he real deal. I think he will have a great season, at least the eye test so far is promising. Murray got the start and he had an alright game, but not great by any means. Missed a lot of floaters and shot less than 50% I believe.

The main thing about this game was Pop was giving all the new guys plenty of rope to hang themselves with unfortunately. It's always a bit of a drag seeing guys just have bad performances when you know they've worked hard for the opportunity. As we squandered a double digit lead in the fourth quarter, I was feeling bad for a few of them. It was a pre-season game and could have easily been winnable, but we weren't playing for the win.

Me and my buddy were talking about Gordon... All he needed was a j to open the rest of his game up. He could be really good. They got some nice pieces they just need an Alpha and Gordon might be it. As for Simmons, I thought he might be the next Stephen Jackson but we'll see.

Edit: As for Hejonia... What did they do to that kid...

What do you mean by missed? He tried throwing down some dunks in traffic? or were these missed dunks with space? As in, does he not have any explosiveness to finish them?

I don’t know what he meant obviously but I had noticed Rudy missing alley oops he couldn’t grab in other games.
He looks much better than one could expect but that’s more a product of his height + strength. He’s still just skilled all around and a good enough shooter, etc to have + impact offensively but I think his hops aren’t what they used to be. That just my opinion.

I have not watched any PS games yet but I am happy how Lauvergne seems to be performing. Being in the typical international environment the Spurs provide makes him more comfortable than with other teams. I liked his game when I saw him on the french national team some years ago and am happy to have him on the team. His passing seems to be superb.
