    I do.

    Hill was outstanding on Saturday.
Both corners were IMO. They were hitting machines when OKie St ran the ball against 6 and very deep safeties.

Those UT fans who have remained faithful, give yourself a par on the back. We are supposed to be, at the very least, a top 10 program in NCAA football history. For at least the last 7 years you have endured the horror of extreme suckage. It's much easier to root for a program where not much is expected. Rooting for what is supposed to be a top program that continually screws up, its tough.
I used to love football season, but the Horns and Cowboys have taken away a lot of my joy for many seasons...at least I have my Judson Rockets. Watching the Horns is like putting my nuts in a vice and slowly applying pressure till they either rupture and explode or I pass out from the pain.

i was thinking that a couple of weeks ago. why is herman so wreckless with his QBs? are the RBs that bad? i mean, i love ehlinger's grit and all, but at the rate he plays-even going back to his westlake days, the kid may end his career before it ever really takes off. they need to spell him some relief and keep him in the pocket more often.
    Pocket?

Have we actually been able to form a pocket? There is really nothing you can do on offense with an offensive line as bad as ours. Someone is gonna die, or just fall down before they are hit.

i've only seen a few moments of each of the games so i haven't seen what the pass protection looks like, but i do know herman loves to run his QBs as he did it at OSU and also at UH. how bad are the RBs that he chooses to have the ball in the QBs hands so much? or is it that the O-line can't get any push?

No push unless they are goaliine and can close the gaps. Even then it's not good. This is the telltale sign of an offensive line that can't move their feet. Warren had 3 nice runs against ok st. One was a clear hold Off left tackle, called. Another was a hold not caught. And the last that worked... Ok st linebacker was lost. The other running plays just get no blocking. , d lines get Sam when they rush 3 and leave the house against the pass. It's awful. The worst I have ever seen.

RBs aren't the problem, it's the offensive line. Texas started out the year with 18 scholarship offensive linemen. During preseason, Texas lost Jean DeLance to transfer to Florida, and Brandon Hodges to transfer somewhere else. Then Texas has lost 3 starters and 1 backup to either season ending injuries or out indefinitely. Including the one guy on the line we could not afford to lose.

Today we have found out that our starting center is in the concussion protocol.

Seriously, can things get any worse for this group???

We have two freshmen TE and one committed, I'd be good with not taking another TE and possibly addressing another offensive linemen. I absolutely want 5 linemen this class, we need guys with enough upside that we can count on them in 3 years. That means red shirt and 2 years in the strength program.

Herman mentioned in his presser today the final play was the same play Clemson ran to beat Alabama last year. J. Heard was open for a second, but Ehlinger was late in his read.

This is a great take and I agree with this; however, this seems to be a down year in the state for OL targets. I honestly don't know who to target. Hopefully the JUCO decides to join and they find at least one more quality big out there.

FYI- From a father of a kid who's gone thru concussion protocol in High School. Ehlinger more than likely isn't playing Saturday.

Can't blame him. I wouldn't want to play in a Tim Beck offense either.

Beck isn't the problem, I don't know why so many want to blame him. Watching our offense with no line is like watching WWE where 3 guys jump into the ring against 1 guy.

Except there is no script and our one guy Ehlinger is either running for his life or just getting killed.

Has there been some bad play calls, heck yea, but it's to be expected. Every play that doesn't work is a bad play. Every play that does work is a great play. OSU had a great game plan for stopping Ehlinger, and it worked. We won't have to worry about that this week since he ain't likely to play.

I'm telling you guys, every time we run a pass play and the QB has more than 3 seconds, it's a win for the oline. Every time we run a running play for more than 4 yards is a win for the oline. In the last game we didn't see too many Oline wins. moving forward, outside of what is going to be a terrible TCU game, I expect to see us start to look much better in November. last 6 games we should go 4-2. People will begin to feel much better about this team. Hopefully we face one of those crappy SEC teams with no offense and an overrated defense.

It's terrible game planning and play calling by Beck and the staff. To say he isn't the problem is complete ignorance on your part.

I think my favorite Tim Beck call on Saturday was running Warren on that outside zone on the 2nd and short in the 4th. Next up would be the three incomplete passes after Warren rips off a 15 yard run.

Out of context, but your "there is no script" quote could not be more true about Beck's plan for the offense thus far. Dude doesn't have a clue.

Nothing against Warren, but him getting 15 yards on that run was nothing more than a fluke. We average 2.7 yards per carry, I'm not giving him the ball beyond using him as a change up.

As I said if we throw the ball 3 times and connect on those passes then Beck is a genius, but we don't so he is a dumbass.

I will be the first to say I hated the last play where we threw the interception, but fact is Heard was open and our freshmen QB didn't see him.

My only issue with Beck is how he is using Ehlinger, he is going to get him hurt by letting him run so much. Other than that, this offense will win us a lot of ball games once we can start to block like we have a pair.

Oline sucking is a given, yet we see slow developing outside runs and no quick routes over the middle despite having multiple tall receivers who could get inside position on routes like that. It may or not be Beck, but you giving him a pass for calling multiple runs for Ehlinger outside despite being up in the booth and not seeing is weird.
