he found more than one hundred federally funded courses covering everything from computer programming to nursing.
Another way of saying he found the federal govt was willing to prepare him to get a job doing everything from phone support to emptying bedpans for $8.50/hour

Well I don't think that's true but regardless aren't you a limited govt conservative? You would probably be against any govt paying for retraining. Politics aside it's these own people's fault if they sit around waiting for a dying industry to come back. Should get a new career and/or MOVE which is important. People have always had to move to where the jobs are and a lot of people like this wanna stay in these dying towns and blame politicians for not making their towns hotbeds for jobs

    OH no!

Got to travel! Instead of going down a hole in the backyard.
Bunch of lazy ass black lunged fools...

Coal jobs are preferable to those in natural gas, they said, because the mines are close to home, while pipeline work requires travel.

    So educate me.

What is the computer programing coursework the govt provide coal miners and what developer position are they qualified for when they complete the course?

What is the nursing coursework for coalminers? Are they RN's or LVN's when they finish the course?

I wasn't even being partisan here. Point is these people wanted to hear the coal mines were being reopened so they ignored anyone who told them otherwise. And they're ignoring the need to get a new career now. Lack of personal responsibility and accountability it's what's ing these people over

I can’t speak to the RN coursework, but the computer programming training appears to be in the same vein as the CodeUp program here in SA. The company I work for hires developer I positions out of that program with Starting salaries at $40-$50k.

Well it's been well over a decade since I did any programming so maybe things have changed but I have a hard time believing your Codeup story. A ged and $18,000 and they'll make you a developer in 18 weeks...sounds shady to me. Is your company some temp provider? Why would they give $50K to someone with a GED who has only completed an 18 week course and has zero experience?

A lot of my friends are programmers and I don't know of any company that doesn't require a bachelor's for a developer position.

Trash wants you to bail out big coal

The Trump administration wants to force electricity customers to pay for a $10.6 billion annual bailout of the failing coal and nuclear industries through surcharges on their monthly energy bills.

The quietly announced proposal would require ratepayers to fully underwrite a new mandate that coal and nuclear plants hold a minimum of 90 days' worth of fuel on-site under the false premise of providing security from power outages.

a massive government-mandated transfer of wealth from consumers to coal and nuclear companies.

"This is like changing the energy system from capitalism to communism—and the U.S. government wants to do it within the next two weeks,"

only 0.00007 percent of all major power disruptions over the past five years were due to fuel supply problems,

Evidence points to a big handout to Big Coal from a president who campaigned on reviving the declining industry.

So in late September, just days before Murray’s predicted bankruptcy, the Department of Energy proposed new rules to intervene in state electricity markets by subsidizing coal and nuclear power plants—the rule change Murray Energy sought.

So clearly this isn’t about power outages

Spending “$11 billion to prop up power plants that don’t change reliability is just not good policy,”

Nearly all of the $10.6 billion paid annually by Americans would go to 10 or fewer companies,

These subsidies would impose significant costs on electricity customers and require them to “pay the full costs of power plants that are too expensive to compete against cheaper alternatives in the market,”

So people have to pay $10B so Trash can keep his promise to one ing coal asshole.

Still not going to do your work for you. Quit begging.

It isn't like it is hard to show the specifics of the training. G-zus.

Read a bit, link it here.

Let me know if you need help with that, be happy to do some screen caps for you.

Black Lung Study Finds Biggest Cluster Ever Of Fatal Coal Miners' Disease

Epidemiologists at the National Ins ute for Occupational Safety and Health say they've identified the largest cluster of advanced black lung disease ever reported,

    a cluster that was first
uncovered by NPR 14 months ago.

In a research letter published Tuesday in the Journal of the American Medical Association, NIOSH confirms 416 cases of progressive massive fibrosis or complicated black lung in three clinics in central Appalachia from 2013 to 2017.

"This is the largest cluster of progressive massive fibrosis ever reported in the scientific literature,"

"We've gone from having nearly eradicated PMF in the mid-1990s to the highest concentration of cases that anyone has ever seen,"

"When I first implemented this clinic back in 1990, you would see ... five [to] seven ... PMF cases" a year,

The clinics now see that many cases every two weeks, he says, and

have had 154 new diagnoses of PMF since the fieldwork for the NIOSH study concluded a year ago.

"That's an indication that it's not slowing down," Carson says. "We are seeing something that we haven't seen before."

and Trash, lover of coal miners' campaign donations, will do nothing to help sick coal miners, and intends to cut Medicaid and Medicare that coal miners depend on for health care.
