Yeah if Rox hold on the one spot we'd be better off in the four spot. That being said the second round will be tough, but if we are full strength I think we will be hard to beat.
The positive I take out of playing the Warriors in round 2 that spurs are more likely to be fresh. Also to get out of the West your going to have to go through the Warriors. I believe whoever wins a spurs-warriors series will beat the Rox in the WCF.

Truth. Don't understand why so many on here want him.
Because when he's focused on his game, he's a offfensive force inside/outside, the most complete center in the league.

Pop would rip into him once and then he'd check out.
I doubt it. Cousins respects real tough guys and Pop is one of them.

People said he can't defend...I guess, they're the same guys who said LMA couldn't do it after watching him in Portland.

Also, he sacrificed touches when joined Davis in NO.

Like I've said before in this thread, his talent deserves an elite team, I would love to see him in Boston, GWS, SAS, Cavs, even in Houston. Horward-Harden duo was horrible but Cousins is way more versatile than Howard. I doubt D'Antoni could coach him like Pop/Stevens/Kerr would do...but who knows.

How did the Celtics lose to the Bulls by 23 tbh...
Lack of rest, Kyrie and Morris out, second night of a back-to-back, just one of those games, etc..

Talent isn't good enough when you're such a liability. Costly techs, ejections, and loss of focus due to an inability to control anger can cost you BIG when it matters.

Personally, I wouldn't turn him down, but I'd definitely worry about what his at ude can cost the team down the line if he was a Spur.

He never has the chance to play for an elite coach on a top-team, that would be the reason for some of his bad habits. After all, he didn't grow up in a winning culture.

Why does Iso-Black Hole Rudy look great in SAs now? I liked what he said about this “It’s a situation where, you have to pay a lot of attention to detail and it’s a winning mentality. That’s something I was away from, for so long, you kind of create bad habits. I’ve had to re-teach myself. And I’ve had to continue to do it every day,” Gay told Yahoo Sports. “It’s great. Everybody helps each other. Everybody is held accountable. Everybody is on the same page. Everybody has one thing in mind, and that’s win. I wanted to be a part of that.”

About winning a game by himself in the 4th...Even elite bigs have issues in this today NBA to close games because most smallball teams double-teamed them.

Remember LMA in last Boston game? Except the first 5', he dominated all game but in some of last possessions he missed a shot, lose the ball...And Manu made the winning shot.

Like it or not, this is a perimeter oriented league where perimeter players get the ball in their hands to close the games

Personally, I wouldn't turn him down, but I'd definitely worry about what his at ude can cost the team down the line if he was a Spur.
Players changes, he's still too young and extremely talented, I'd give him a chance.

I post about this every chance I get, but John Calipari has ruined a generation of top flight basketball players. He takes several 5-stars every year and makes them worse. They win a lot at Kentucky out of just sheer talent, but he doesn't do anything to improve them. They come into the NBA with ty work ethics, self-centered skills, no team abilities whatsoever, and most important, a complete lack of understanding of how to improve. Almost literally every single Calipari player is way worse and way overrated in this league. Maybe John Wall has been able to get beyond the smear of . Maybe. The rest are some of the biggest basketball-morons you've ever seen, and barely any of them have improved. None of them know how to grind a victory out or how to make their teammates better.

Now, for Rudy Gay. I admit he's been a self-centered player for most of his career, but I'm not sure I'd blame coaching on this entirely. Calhoun was a good team coach and Connecticut did turn out winners. Gay has just been limited as a basketball player, but he's always understood what a team environment could be, and it's showing.

I never thought about that. After reading this, I guess you have a strong point, a college-Calipari systemic problem makes sense

I don't necessarily disagree with you. We have yet to see how Cousins would play with an elite coach, but there's a large sample size of him being a for brains. Again, I wouldn't turn him down.

As for Gay, I'll just say that he never had the reputation of being a complete head with a short fuse.

Finally, he's back but when I read things like these, I don't get why Spurs doctors didn't rest Kawhi all summer.

    About Reggie Jackson tendinitis

I suspect the resulting worry is unintentional, but I ended up reading that line of tweets bc I was curious about the Reggie Jackson thing.

Frankly, I hope Kawhi has a good season. I am not sure if this is going to affect his basketball this season, but I hope it doesn't. Considering how the Spurs took a very deferential wait with his recovery, I hope he's fine rest of the season and continues on the tear he was when he left off.
