Here's a question Tfloss (or anyone else), when was the last time Texas got a commitment on someones official visit (that was made public so I don't include silent ones)? I told my son that I can't recall one. All these other schools get commitments like that all the time.
My thought is that this coaching staff likes to strategically announce commitments. They take the silent commit on officials all the time, but like to have it go public at the right time for momentum purposes.

An offer finally goes out to 2019 DB Erick Young
I have read a rumor that he's not sure about UT because of the most recent DB haul.
If that's true, hopefully he was speaking like that because he hadn't been offered yet.
According to this read it was mostly because he hadn't been offered. Sounds like they'll have every chance to make this a battle.
LB DaShaun White of Richland told OrangeBloods today that he's shutting down his recruitment and won't allow any other in-home visits.

Inside Texas is saying OL Casey Tucker of Stanford did make it to Austin over the weekend.
There isn't much information to pass along, but other schools pursuing Tucker feel that UT is in great position right now.
And if you're wondering, Texas would take both of Tucker and OL Calvin Anderson of Rice.
On DE Vernon Jackson of Boling...
-24/7 is hearing UT made a big impression this weekend, will be a "major player" moving forward and Jackson is currently leaning towards staying close to home. His favorite part was hanging out at Herman's house along with WR Brennan Eagles, CB Anthony Cook and S BJ Foster. Another factor possibly helping with Jackson is him being good friends with 2019 ATH Jordan Whittington of Cuero who was also on campus this weekend. He still has official visits to Alabama and A&M.
-Inside Texas is basically hearing the opposite as far as momentum goes, and they expect him to sign with Alabama.

-The news on Joseph Ossai is not great and, unless things take yet another 180, he appears to be Texas-bound.
The four-star defensive end from Conroe Oak Ridge had been a Texas lean early in the season around the time of his official visit before coming back to having A&M on top. The Aggies were the heavy leader as recently as a couple weeks ago.
Things have changed to the Horns being the heavy leader and he has already used his official visit to A&M and Jimbo Fisher has already used his in-home. The A&M assistants will keep visiting him but there might not be enough time left in this one.

FYI winter workouts will begin tomorrow.
They added later on that Tucker is still on campus today.
Inside Texas believes that, other than DE Joseph Ossai, Texas will likely close with DE Michael Williams of Baton Rouge, LA and DE Caleb Okechukwu of Washington, D.C.
Both will be on campus this weekend.
They believe DE Tyree Wilson will stick with A&M, DE Daniel Carson will go with Nebraska and DE Courtre Alexander will verbal to Arkansas.
