Telling the truth about being sexually assaulted is being a shameless opportunist in your book.
No. She could be telling 'the truth.' She's a shameless opportunist in either scenario.
Telling the truth about being sexually assaulted is being a shameless opportunist in your book.
A shameless rape victim? Pretty low, even for you.
The #MeToo movement is about strength in numbers. Thurman didn’t speak out until she felt comforted by the fact that so many other women were coming out with similar stories of workplace sexual assault. Weinstein actually admitted to one of the sexual assault allegations Thurman made (an attack in Paris in the 1990’s), but his representatives rely on the same sorry tactic that many attackers use which is to attempt to shift the blame back to their victims by asking “why didn’t she come out sooner?”, “why did she maintain a professional working relationship with her attacker?”, etc. as if this somehow vindicates the attacker.
An ambitious and successful woman like Thurman is a natural target for these kinds of victim shaming techniques because she apparently wasn’t willing to risk sacrificing the prime of her career to become a martyr for the cause. In Hollywood, socializing with producers, directors, etc. is almost part of the job description. But it’s really not that difficult to understand how she could hold two disparate thoughts in her head when meeting with Weinstein: (1) this person attacked me and is repulsive, and (2) this person is essential to my career and I’ll put up with it because I don’t want to risk losing my dream job and get publicly shamed for speaking out about it.

We've concluded that it was alleged sexual assault and not rape. But you don't think it's underhanded to happily engage in a partnership with someone for decades and then throw him under the bus when he's no longer useful? That's the epitome of manipulation. It is shameless.
She "spoke out" only after years of sucking at Weinstein's teet and when she knew it was politically favorable to dump on the guy. That is a far cry from admirable or courageous.
You don't know what the truth is; don't pretend you do.
No, you said she could be telling the truth. If she is you're saying she's a shameless assault victim. Very low.
I don't think she's looking to be a hero but she deserves a right to speakout with being victim shamed. Not ever speaking out would be a far cry from admirable or courageous.
Shameless may not be the best word. I would go with my original term that she was an opportunist. Clearly, she didn't see herself as a victim; then, presenting herself as one after the fact is a low-character move.
dying career... what could make you prevalent again uma? hmm...
DING!
She was going out for drinks with this guy just a year ago.
The chumpettes have perfectly shown what is wrong with #MePoo. Everyone that claims it is suddenly an unquestioned profile in courage.
Dude did the same with pedo Roy Moore then backtracked two pages later. Fookin' re that guy.
I didn't backtrack on anything in that thread, tranny.
Andat you piggybacking on another cuck post.
She has the right to "speak out." She's nothing special for selling him as a monster after being his buddy for decades. She's not "the victim."
Straw man
No. You've perfectly demonstrated it. Learn what a straw man is.
Oh ok. So you stand by defending a pedo. Duly noted.
Checks out. Pedo do tend to look out for other pedos.
Where did I say she is an unquestioned profile in courage? So much of the discussion here has gone totally over your head.
Doesn't matter to you.
This is your backlash against #MeToo.
I never made excuses for any alleged pedo activities.
Dismissed.
Your original term was "shameless opportunist."
Is Uma a profile in courage for #MeToo?
Yes or No.
