I only brought Rudy and Anderson up because they are potential free agents this off season. I still don't buy that Utah traded for Crowder because they thought he was a desirable piece for the future.
it'd be funnier if the lakers bought IT out... and then the celtics sign him for cheap![]()

My issue is that with current contracts sa has no easy path to improving in off season. Will be interesting to see how this off season and deadline impacts Kawhis decision. Keep Kawhi - you have to. Only priority and only measure of success.
T
Hood is a 6'8'' guy that is averaging 17 ppg on 39% 3pt shooting on a laughable cheap contract.
Crowder is a 6'6'' 3 and D guy that can't neither shoot nor defend. And is being paid 7 per for the next three years.
I seriously can't wrap my head around it. There's gotta be something more.
Not if TP returns to playoff form from last year IMO. At the moment one PG can shoot, one can defend & one can get us into our sets. Biggest problem is, none can get their own shot. If TP gets back to form from last year's playoffs, the balance looks so much better.
Utah might not have been too high on Crowder but they were ready to let Hood walkfor nothing this summer (that tells you what they think of Hood).
and they appear to have wanted a wing player back to help out this season (makes sense they want a wing back bc they have Sefolosha injured too and are sending out a wing, plus Joe Johnson). Crowder had very good seasons in Boston and has only looked bad in the dumpster fire that is the Cavs.
Rudy has no value to them bc he's injured and a FA this next summer that they aren't sure will want to be back.
You could debate Crowder vs Anderson, but I am just going to give you the spurstalk troll version, he doesn't have any value on his own. Teams were asking for 1st round picks in trades involving Danny so I imagine for Kyle it's no different.
Trade only makes sense if you understand they were looking for a wing to replace Hood bc they wanted no part of Hood or his deal moving forward.
Spurs need scoring. IT wouldn't hurt.
All the ST gots.![]()
You know absolutely nothing that pertains to the FO wants, needs or desires..
Anybody who believes ur nonsense needs to be shot.
another post of a typical troll armchair gm with nothing better to do than suk off that 3rd stringer pile kyle..
Hood is due to get paid and has been a huge negative liability on defense for his entire career even playing in a defensive juggernaut like the Jazz have been at times. Him being a defensive sieve is why he plays a lot of minutes coming off the bench. He's a high usage ball stopper... doesn't create for his teammates and I have seen criticism from Utah fans that wanted him gone. He's streaky too. He's due for a big payday due to his shooting... think you overrate Hood highly bc he lit up Patty and Forbes that one time. The last time the Jazz kicked Spurs butt he scored 5 points.
Paul George and Melo.
I didn't even watch that game. In fact, I haven't seen much of Hood at all. But by just looking at the numbers and the contracts it is easy to come to the conclusion that a Hood for Crowder swap didn't make much sense for the Jazz. Even if you wanted to get something for Hood, Crowder for 7 millions per year for the next three years seem like a pretty ty deal. They could have at least got a draft pick.
I just looked bbref... the Jazz have been -10 with him on the floor compared to other options. Defensively he has been really bad for them this season and offensively they are better without him, even with his shooting and he's due to get paid and Jazz already made up their mind they aren't paying him... they just wanted a wing back b4 he walked for nothing.
I think bc of the sefolosha injury, plus them sending out Hood plus Joe, they needed a wing. Crowder is in a reasonable deal. Wings nowadays are paid a lot more, even ones that are mediocre.. unless we are talking rook deals or dleague projects which one never knows how they will do (BP3 for example).'
Edit: Hood wasn't going to net them a pick obviously. They would have taken that if it was available but it wasn't.
Also, bc of his shooting ability, he might just need to be Kyle Korver/Ray Allen like for the Cavs and be a success. That might not be the same in other teams.

Yeah just because teams fleeces that idiot Chris Wallace for 1st round picks over guys like Ronnie Brewer and Jeff Green doesn't mean he can do the same to other teams. The Grizzlies weren't getting a 1st rounder for a 2-3 month rental. Especially from non-contenders.
And@ the Grizzlies sitting Tyreke because they're gonna trade him only to keep him. This organization is a bunch of buffoons.
Let’s say Kawhi and Rudy come back and SA makes another run to the WCF and loses to GS. How will they improve in the off-season if the goal is to at least try and get better even though it may be impossible to leapfrog GS?
Option
1) Sign Lebron. Will involve a whole lot of moving parts and may not be possible. We could easily be looking at another CP3 job.
Alternatively
2) Sign Tyreke Evans for the full MLE / 4 yrs (this might be possible - Lou Williams may have set the market).
Draft well. Try and find the next Spencer Dinwiddie. Try and find another good veteran big for the vet min, a la David Lee...
So ya, that does not seem easy at all^
Spurs always so afraid to make moves because of how it will impact their salary cap space 7 years from now. But they give Patty and Pau ridiculous contracts right now.
Who the said anything about easy? Wasn't me.
I did when you responded to me. I said reasonable path actually.
At least Walker didn't get traded elsewhere, leaving open the possibility between end of the season and July 1st (when Gay can opt out; they need his contract to take back Williams).
It still probably won't happen, but there was always a better chance then than now. Not only are Spurs notoriously adverse to in season moves (especially of this magnitude), but an ignominious end to the season could up their desperation level.
- Cavaliers did well, but are now officially in same position as Spurs with no second creator. Plus, Hood, Clarkson and Nance have little to no playoff experience and they have to put this together with 29 games to go, then re-integrate Love later. While slightly more likely to make the Finals, they're no more likely to win it.
-Mavericks (exchanging superfluous small guard for needed size on wing), Pistons (needed wing depth), Lakers (cap space + 1st), Knicks and Suns (Mudiay and Payton worth looks for relatively low cost).
-Grizzlies (should have taken the best offer for Evans), Timberwolves (if/when they sign Rose), Kings (admittedly blowing 13 / 22 in '16 just over 18 months after draft).
I find it fascinating how some people utilize and back up their opinions using advanced metrics ( plus/minus, drpm, orpm, or On/Off points per/100 possessions, ect) for all players they're assessing.
But when someone brings up Murrays' advanced metrics they don't want to except those facts.
So Cavs essentially traded Irving for a 1st rounder and Lakers role players, lol. Aldridge would have been a much better haul for Irving that pick may or may not pan out. Trading Wade back to Miami? seriously for a 2nd rounder not worth it Wade must have wanted out. People think Cleveland got better with these deals, gonna have to see how this plays out they pretty much traded the whole team.
Cant believe the Grizz kept Evans after telling him to sit out knowing he's almost guaranteed to leave in the off-season
The Spurs should go after Aaron Gordon
