To me the story is 50Mills. Whatever you may think of his contract or his play this year, his response was the response of a classy man. He did himself, his family his heritage and the Spurs organization proud.
The city is only liberal because the majority of the population is black. When assessing if an area is liberal you have to also factor in the metro area. Cleveland's metro area is working class white.

Calling me names doesn't help me understand what you're feeling, or bring me closer to seeing this issue your way. How is comparing Mills to a Jamaican bobsledder racist?
Most of the sports racism makes sense to me. I get "thug" being code for the N word. I get "black lives matter" because blacks regularly encounter ins utionalized racism. I get "brings his lunch pail" being a subtle dig at non-white players. I get that black players are often appreciated for their physical prowess whereas whites often have their intelligence emphasized. I get kneeling for the anthem to try and bring about awareness and change. I get that the media and fans have a different standard of conduct for black players. But this Jamaican bobsledding thing? I'm not understanding it, at all.
It was a joke about his Jamaican looking hair. I think this is being blown out of proportion.
You say something racist to a player and it can be proven then it should be a lifetime ban. Boston has had issues recently where people have thrown bananas or shouted something racist from the stands in baseball, it started up a whole discussion about Boston's long racist history and gave the team unwanted press.

That would make sense because Australian aborigines are more different genetically than Europeans are from Africans.

Lets start with Tasmania
In 1820 the Governor General of Tasmania declared martial law on indigenous people of Tasmania. A cordon of 2200 milita moved from the north coast to the south coast, they led themselves the black line and moved across the state over 12 years exterminating aboriginal people. Till a population of 148, from 7,000 in 12 years. The remaining 148 mostly elderly, woman and children were relegated to flinders island where disease killed all but 15 of them.
As of today Tasmania Aboriginals are classed as extinct. Prior to British settlement. The number of Palawa was 17000, in less than 50 years they were gone.
Broadly speaking the Indigenous population of Australia was 1,250,000 prior to British settlement in 1788, by 1900 that number was at 50,000.
thankfully today that number is now at 410,000. Full blooded ATSI numbers are around 75,000.
