^ WtfJimenez with the goods tbh
I noticed that right way. People have been calling out that blatant travel for years now. It's how he creates space against defenders. NBA just completely ignores it.
Dude is one of the most frustrating players to watch ever when you combine everything he brings to the game from flopping to this to drawing ridiculous offensive fouls to disappearing in the playoffs and not caring.
Frauden is a perfect nickname.
Frauden and CP0 combined in the second half: 10 points, 5 assists, 5 turnovers, 4-13 shooting. Sindarius Thornwell was playing playoff-style defense on Frauden and he choked against it. Luckily for the Rockets, they were playing a depleted team coming off a game in Denver the night before, so it didn't matter on the scoreboard.
The MVP discussion should be between LeBron and Davis. Frauden can have his Regular Season Crossover Championship.
Westbrook won MVP with his team as a 6 seed last year. As long as the Pelicans get the 6th seed or higher, Davis will probably win it.
Doubtful, unfortunately. Even if he deserves it.
For almost 40 years, the MVP has been voted on by media members. And that fact has been a big factor in the winner, particularly over the past 15 years with Steve Nash’s MVPs, Kobe’s MVP, Russ last year. Probably started even before then when the media got tired of voting for Jordan and Malone won. How dumb is it that guys like Malone and Nash have two League MVPs and Shaq has only one? Otherwise LeBron would be maybe sitting on not 4, not 5, not 6 MVPs, but... maybe as many as 8 or 9.
It’s as much about a newsworthy storyline as it is about the basketball, maybe more. Last year, the narrative was Russ and his triple doubles and doing that without Durant. This year, the narrative is Harden being worthy of the MVP the previous two years but coming up short because of the seasons Russ and Steph put up. But Harden’s narrative is the one that will most likely prevail with voters this season. First place team, league scoring leader, coming close to winning it the last two years.
It would be surprising for Davis to win it. Not completely impossible, but I certainly don’t believe it’s likely. Even if he deserves it.
LeBron a beast but 8, 9 mvp's hyperbole ...
do agree it started with taking them away from Jordan which is why i devalue the award ...it is now a media narrative award. The move to more analytics hasnt changed that because the supporter of that player will point to the ones that support the case they are making.
but some of yall act as Harden hasnt had a mvp caliber season ...he has and Davis is trending that way too.LeBron still the best player but Davis and Harden you can argue have had better regular seasons so far ...especially Harden. Unibrow charging hard late ...
