I know some of you guys are joking with the tank, but in all seriousness I think they should have shut down Kawhi for the season since December and start the tanking process
And then what? Pop will just waste the pick and/or never play him next season, while giving minutes to Bryn Forbes instead..

Not to be moral victories guy but there were some positives, namely Anderson and LMA.

Thought both have proven that they can play effectively against GSW

Aldridge was great again tbh, he found ways to score other than posting up and even spotting up, drew 11 FTs, only turned the ball over twice and did a good job of passing out of doubles- finding Murray on at least a couple of his four assists for easy layups.

Anderson got cooked late against GODurrant but also forced five steals, and has 12 points and 11 rebound to go along with four assists.

Murray was mostly good, thought he did a pretty good job of cutting into open space when they doubled LMA for easy layups and did an excellent job finishing in the paint.

Putting up 30/17/4 only to waste the last possession fading away from 15 feet out is the most LaMarcus Aldridge thing ever.
the most LMA thing ever is posting big numbers but missing a key free throw late.

Him going 2-3-that one miss would've cut it to one, KD missed one of his so it would've been only a two point game during the final possession.

I'm not joking about the tank in the slightest.

    I want that top 14!

Horrendous coaching(which has become the standard lately) and communication down the stretch..letting Durant beat you rather than anybody else, Kyle getting screened off every time without help or communication

Not making changes to the closing lineup despite this being the 3rd blown double-digit 4th quarter lead in the past 8 games..

What's the point of signing Rudy Gay if you aren't going to play him in these scenarios? It's been the only thing he's been good at throughout his career
The Rudy Gay thing is really puzzling. You are telling me Mills needed to play 30 minutes and Gay couldn’t take a few minutes at the end. Specially could have been switching more.

The only bad thing about tanking at this point is the mixed signals with a Kawhi allegedly wanting to play again this season, then obviously if they wanted to tank they could have gotten better odds starting earlier

    A 2-3% of moving to a top 3 pick. I’ll take a 7-8 seed over that.

Him not playing White is a mistake.

Seriously though, Forbes and Joff might be my least Spurs since I started watching this team back in '04. Joff was a ing mess, got blocked twice at the rim, randomly posted up Klay and demanding the ball from Tony because he had a "mismatch" and horrid rim protection.

Forbes had to play because no Manu in the second half and Murray, Parker and Anderson not being a playable lineup but he got cooked defensively .

    100% chance of a top 14 vs pick 27 and a 1st round exit.

    Like... for what?

If Mills keeps playing over White, give me the tank.

If Mills isn't getting DNP-CDs, give me the 1.8% chance at a top 3 pick

I'll take David Robinson shaking his head on the lottery selection broadcast while representing the Spurs because he knows how unlikely the math is.

If I have to see Mills getting underserved minutes due to his contract, I need the reward of hope.

Because Mills in the playoffs = no hope, Kawhi or no Kawhi.

    Wow
you have a good memory and that might as well be never... wow
It wasn't even that impressive a game by Mills because GS were intentionally trying to lose.

Gay might have been put on restrictive minutes. A busted eardrum is not fun.

There's a middle ground and more likely, Spurs make the playoffs as the sixth seed play Portland or New Orleans in the first round (with a decent chance of beating both of them and GSW in the second round), but get the 20th and 50th - the highest they've drafted since 2010.

Shame that that was the worst draft I can remember SA having, considering both their slots and the hope we had for the guys they picked. , I'd rank 2012 over that one.

He had a really good game that year GS was tanking to protect the draft pick that became Harrison Barnes. It was the last week of the season I think.

    So maybe, 6 years ago?
That was a big win for SA, though. They needed it to get to 50 wins in the lockout-shortened season. Shame how big of a role he played in keeping that streak going considering how significant he's been in killing it this time.

If the Spurs lose Bertans this summer because of Pop's stubbornness to play him this season I will be pissed. I'll be even more pissed if he joins the Warriors. Watch Bertans take a paycut to join them.
Pop is losing his touch or maybe he has lost it already? He didn't double KD down the stretch or throw different defenders at him like Danny. Questionable decisions every 4th quarter.
No wonder the Spurs are the worst 4th qtr team in the NBA. They have a negative net minus. You're kidding youself if you think the Spurs are going to make the playoffs at this rate. Even if they do they are getting eliminated in the first round. Jeez.

I still think the Spurs have the personnel to beat the Warriors with a healthy Leonard, even against Curry Warriors. We have taken leads against them for a few years now. More luck would have to go our way of course, but it's not so clear-cut. Mills/Forbes/Gasol can't play well against them, but the rest of them can. Their bench is pretty much duds.

this team can only play some kind of compe ive basketball when Kyle is on the court, this says more about the front office than Kyle himself, it would not be difficult to find some players with real size (6'8 "6'9") in the g -league to subs ute forbes, bp3, this kind of useless

After the 20th pick the best of next 40 picks were Whiteside, Booker, Stephenson and Bjelicia there wasn't much there. Hopefully the Spurs find a couple of decent prospects if that situation were to happen.

    Agreed tbh,

    Murray, Green, Kawhi, Bertans, LMA
    Parker, Manu, Anderson, Gay, Gasol

should be the rotation for any series against the Warriors or Rockets- really any playoff match up.

Spurs could do damage against the Warriors second unit by staggering minutes (i.e. Manu plays the final 4 of the 1st and 3rd quarter and the 1st 4 minutes of the 2nd and 4th against Livingston-Thompson-Iggy-West-Draymond rotation

Yes. Mills played great in crunch time and hit the game winner.

I just watched the game, couldn't watch it yesterday due to work. I can't believe how many games these guys have thrown away. They're the opposite of long nigg@. They're a bunch of small ed fa%%ots.

The coach is beyond pathetic too. I don't know if it's the players shriveling up or if it's the putrid coaching not coaching them and putting them in the best position possible to win (lineups are atrocious a lot of the time). Too many 4th quarter meltdowns this season for it to be a coincidence.
