It's the G-League, but Derrick White is dominating on both sides of the ball with frightening ease.
he's shown the ability to excel at every level he's played with time. I think he and Murray may be the future at the one and two. Murray plays well with another ball handler and shooter. We'll see. I'm very optimistic about White.
2 combo guards starting would make for an interesting future.
Fun game. The Austin Spurs actually look like a competent offense; they won that game with clutch ball movement and shooting while executing on defense.
Derrick going to be a champion this season.

Derrick White had 35 points. (I think we can count him out for Sacramento tomorrow.)
anyone got derrick white highlights from the game?
Derrick White seems like a smart player. Good pick-up by the Spurs staff, definitely underrated.
White is a big threat in this environment. He can shoot anywhere and is a good pick and roll playmaker at this level. Good stuff.
Even if White is the best option to start at SG, it more than likely wouldn't happen until Parker retires (not by choice, but I actually think that might be sooner than his goal of 3 more seasons) because that would leave a Mills-Parker backup back court, which makes no sense.
The thing is, this back court is so bad that there isn't a single legit starter or closer in it right now, so White should have the opportunity to play roughly 20 mpg next season and occasionally close. He might even be able to work his way up to a virtual split with Mills.
White seems like a better playmaker than Murray. I see him as the eventual PG although not as strong defensively.
Umm. Parker is getting like 10 min a game now. It depends on Patty. He is our starting sg and we have 50 mill invested in his contract. Then we have Danny Green. He likely is gone. Going to take a one year 15 mill deal somewhere. Forbes will likely be a bench guy next year. Hopefully they trade Mills and Gasol somehow.
Would like White, at 6'4", to hav Patty's mins
Porker would be a good spark off the bench in Austin.
It won’t matter to the idiots who say he’s got limited athletic ability. Eye test doesn’t go with their schtick.
Which teams have $15mm of cap space to throw at Green? Only one team (ATL) has that actual space, and only eight teams have that much space if they renounced all of their cap holds. I’m excluding the Rockets from the list as they need to pay Paul and they’ll operate over cap:
Nets - likely will find a way to $20mm of space but limited given they took on bad contracts to get prospects attached to them. I know Marks/Atkinson is an old Spurs duo and Danny is a NY guy, but just don’t see them locking him up, and instead will take on bad salaries for assets.
Kings - also will be in the $20mm range
Mags - $20mm or so as well. Cuban would love to take a swipe at Pop but think they spend on younger guys.
Sixers - best fit out there and will create a lot of space if they don’t retain Re . But they have bigger ambitions.
Bulls - will have to retain Vonleh and Lavine, but will have space after doing so. But probably in market for a star to add to their supporting cast.
Lakers - tons of room. But we know their motives.
Could Green sign a one year deal at bigger than his $10mm option? Sure. But there isn’t a lot of money out there able to pay that kind of money, and there will be a lot of players looking for it.
I think Hanlan is an interesting player. He could be a solid young 3rd PG
There's no way he's getting 15 this off-season, even if he has a strong playoff performances..teams won't be spending like they did the past 2 years..only way he gets more than 10 is if a team strikes out on bigger names and needs to spend like the Lakers did with Caldwell-Pope and Kings did with Hill..
He's not interesting at all. He's not a PG, more like another short SG. He'll also be 26 next season.
You might be getting him confused with Darriun Hilliard, who's the 2nd best player behind White.
what can't this kid do?
