white is the best guard on the team
I agree what a shame that loyalty made Pop send him to the gleague in a season in which the team needed all the help of could get. Dude scoring 35 pts and winning championships down there and the Spurs struggling all year getting some scoring and shooting from their guards. Unless Manu has a good game there wasn't much to show for guard play. Even Murray scoring was coming in untraditional ways like O rebounds...and the occasional cut and transition basket.

You can keep that and enjoy it. Dude is 40 taking up a roster spot and Pop will always play him over any other young prospects.

He’s a legend, with pride and balls of steel, but it’s time to move on.
What young promising wing is not getting time because of Manu? And no, White is not a wing, he is a PG.

tbh, not defending anything, but he was a top 3 player today on the Spurs... more an indictment on the roster/PATFO than anything

Best player over 40 should start being a thing, tbh.
Manu should start "The Big 40" league

Spurs matched GS in 3-point shooting, their shooters actually made shots(Green 2-4, Mills 1-2, Gay 2-4, etc), which isn't that surprising..Warriors aren't an explosive shooting team without Curry..

The rebounding disparity was pathetic..50-31? The Warriors aren't even an athletic team, either..if you're the less talented team, you need to play with high energy..

Can anybody name a single adjustment or gameplan that Pop threw out in this game? This looked like a November game against the Suns

What makes you think he even prepared this series? Tim isn’t suiting up anymore

I miss the days when we always had the most poised player on the court when the playoffs started. His name was Timothy.

Is Tony gonna have to another teammate's wife to be taken out of the rotation?
Well, he was Pop's right hand man in the team meeting and dissing of Kiwi, if you want to believe that's what happened.
Pop isn't going to lose that spy so maybe he's back 1 more season, but he is so obviously not a rotation player that a good friend needs to talk to him and tell him it's over. He's not better than White or even Forbes, who I am not a fan of, but at least can shoot. He should retire if he wants to keep some dignity.

I do have something to be very cheerful about... Derrick White looked like a much better player and prospect than JBell.

Did anyone in the national media even ask where Kawhi is?
Indirectly. They said it was bizarre that he wasn't on the bench.

Watch us not play Derrick White, the only reason to watch this playoff, until we are down 20 again next game.

What young promising wing is not getting time because of Manu? And no, White is not a wing, he is a PG.
Maybe it’s someone that isn’t in the roster because Manu still is. Manu is my favorite Spur ever. It’s not an indictment on him, his heart, or legacy.

He’s 40 and can’t consistently give you what you need anymore. I don’t get how hard it is to understand that guys get old and can’t play at that elite level anymore consistently.

Sometimes it’s a loose ball they just can’t get too. Sometimes it’s a rotation their body just won’t allow them to make anymore. Its little things like that that cost you over the course of a game or series. When your old, your old. Points or no points you’re still old.

Now Manu will have a big game or moment this series, and I’ll appreciate it and be thrilled because of the legend he is. It doesn’t change my mind that I still think it’s time for him to go, and for the Spurs to move on.

    2019-2020 non-guaranteed ?
    partially.

They can stretch and waive him a cost of $2.3 over the next three seasons.

To think - before this situation with Kawhi that has divided Spurs nation into factions, the biggest divide we had was "who's better, Parker or Ginobili?"

And we thought that was dividing the community.

I know our defense was cut up and our offense was poor, but our rebounding is probably the worst of them all. To me that's effort.
There' was a fair amount of that. Murray getting in foul trouble hurt since he's an aggressive rebounder and Kyle getting benched and then picking up some cheap fouls. He got 3 rebounds in sketchy minutes. He didn't have a good game so I am not crying on his behalf. But it's obvious he had played well against them in the past and the team needed him to be better. I would have played him in garbage time but I guess Pop had seen enough.

Pau and Davis let multiple rebounds pass them by in Pau's case literally without moving.

This is why lots of us hoped these gots wouldn't even make the playoffs. Would have been better to get a higher draft pick than to watch these s get swept.

I wanted the experience for Murray and you always learn things about guys in the playoffs IMO. I'd like to think it even makes Pop rethink keeping some guys or not.

I ing hate this team. We are 27th in offense (PPG), and 26th in 3 point field goals attempted. I've been saying it since the moment we signed Aldridge and Gasol -- our offense is going to become the slowest, most archaic offense in the NBA. And it is. We shoot contested jump shots and don't even try to move the ball. And we have no skilled passers or ball handlers. Our guys have bad hands.

And our defense sucks too. Why is Patty Mills always on Kevin Durant? Why are we doubling him? Play REAL defense and guard them one on one. If your best defense is to hope they miss, you're going to get ing slaughtered by this GS team.

This has just been a disgraceful year. Pop running his mouth, Kawhi bailing on the team, Aldridge getting completely unwarranted praise for shooting 25 shots a game with Kawhi out. This is not Spurs basketball. I know we tried to trade Aldridge before the season during the draft,, but he was so horrible in last year's playoffs that nobody would even give us a first round pick for him. And then the Spurs caved and gave him a new contract. Sickening.
Paddy played 27 Minutes and that was with him missing the entire 4th Q bc it was garbage time.
He played the most minutes of any Spur. Was he great? No. 2|5 shooting. 3 assists and 1 TO. Nothing else. Nothing in 27 minutes.

Patty quickly became my least favorite player.

He was fine off the bench in a 20 minute role. But as a starter is pathetic.

Seriously can't understand why pop continues to play him so much.
