The difference is Paxson and Kerr had experience and were dead eye shooters lol. Jordan planned the play for Kerr to get the shot during the timeout because he had the IQ to know where the Jazz defenders were going to be when he got the ball. He had already hit a game winner earlier in the series so he knew the double-team was coming. That's why he's regarded as the G.O.A.T

Lebron in contrast held the ball for an eternity because it looked like he had no idea what to do and didn't want to shoot it. He stared down George Hill who cut but Klay Thompson saw what was going on and grabbed Hill before the ball even got there. Lebron has made the step-back shot a staple of his this entire playoffs. Why not trust it now? Curry sure as wasn't going to block it lol. He has no pressure. No one expects the Cavs to win this series. He was already having a great game where his confidence should have been high. Why not take that shot?
I think many of us wish LeBron would take that shot ...i texted game winner incoming ...and i was almost positive he sinks the shot. maube passing was the right play technically buy i loved the aggresdsive closer we have seen all playoffs.

that being said, hard to fault the man with 51 8 and 8 in almost 50 mins.

^^ he said in presser he had blurred vision after Donkey Phuk was allowed to gouge him in the eye.
    Sure that figured in.

Regardless. The end of game order of blunder was
    1. WarriorRef giving buttf Durant two FTs instead of a charge.
    2. JR Dumb
    3. Hill missed FT.

It speaks volumes about how irrelevant Durbeta is nowadays that nobody's talking about how trash his performance was, even with the refs bailing him out. He had iso tunnel vision, didn't want the challenge of checking LeGOAT defensively (even Curry played tough defense on LeGOAT at times), and his rebounding looked like Bargnani.

I agree with your take. I was screaming at him to drive to the rim especially with Curry guarding him. I fully expected Hill to miss one or possibly both free throws in that moment. The only other person I would had trusted at the line at that point in the game would had been Korver who seems to ice water in his veins.

You have to understand, LeGOAT's haters are grasping at straws to find anything to criticize him for about last night's game. This is all they have, so they'll milk it for all it's worth.

It's still stupid, because the Cavs win that game with fair officiating. It took the most blatant rigging we've seen since 2002 for the Cavs to even be in that situation instead of celebrating a win.

people who push this narrative are usually die hard kobe and jordan stans so im not surprised

the guy dropped 50 in 60% shooting, facilitated, cleaned the glass, defended against an overwhelming stacked team that needed refs to help them win the game.

but he didn’t take the last shot

Plus, JR's boneheaded move is the only reason the last possession didn't turn out fine for the Cavs. Even the missed free throw didn't hurt them that badly at first because they got the rebound.

Even with JR's dumbass move, the Warriors still had to be bailed out twice by the refs on that play. First, Draymond got away with a blatant lane violation on the missed free throw. Then, LeBron called for a timeout and got conveniently ignored by the refs.

That's the point though. Why do all that work to put your team in a position to win and then trust George Hill to come up big when you need him the most? What sense does that make? I don't believe the best player always has to take the last shot which is why I defended Jordan's decision to pass to Kerr but last night was one of those moments where Lebron NEEDED to take the last shot because he was the guy that had it going all game and he really could just rise up over Curry like he wasn't even there. That dude has been in the Finals 8 times already and has been aggressive the entire playoffs. I don't understand the mindset of being in the championship round, having a great game and then pinning your hopes on George Hill to get it done. Wasted opportunity.

We know why he didn't. No Shane Battier (2012) Ray Allen (2013l, or Kyrie (2016) to bail him out. He too scared to take that shot. Make or miss, Jordan, Bird, Kobe, Reggie, etc., ALL would have taken that shot. But the "GOAT" won't?

This beef wasn't even originally about Drake, it was about Wayne and Birdman. Drake involved himself in it by questioning the authenticity of Pusha's drug-dealing past. So it's only natural that Pusha is going to respond by pointing out his ghostwriters (fake lyricist, fake rapper) and how he's a deadbeat dad (in contrast to his fake "good guy" image).

Remember when DK passed to Paxson and Kerr?
It was actually Horace Grant who passed the ball to Paxton for his GW shot.

They might have to dust off Rodney Hood for game 2. The twitterverse is going nuts on JR:

I think all this scrutiny is gonna break him mentally

Yeah, who could forget this clutch shot by Shane Battier?

This series-winning shot by Ray Allen was amazing:

And this block by Kyrie was just incredible:

You're right, Hernando. LeBron stays getting bailed out.

Went to bed right after the game and missed the presser. They had reporters laughing about JR's hoop IQ. It is pretty obvious and disrespectful

Props to Chef, the 2x champ (at the "GOAT's" expense) for keeping it professional and not giving the Cavs any bulletin board material

How is Durbeta escaping criticism for getting clamped up by a plumber in the Finals? The free pass this guy keeps getting is just disgusting.

golden opportunity to win a road game. hard to overcome that. my guess is GSW wins game 2 fairly easily, CLE takes 2 of 3 at home, GSW will close it out at home

Yes, I was. Sure, leaving the bench was dumb - they knew the rules - but it killed all momentum Suns were building. The rest is history.

Was LBJ scared of the moment -
    despite having a monster game?
