I'm thinking they were fine until last offseason when they signed Patty and Pau and ted up the cap space for the next three years. The roster in general sucks and I harbor no ill feelings toward Kawhi from wanting to get out from under that. No player should be asked to carry that amount of scrubs night in and night out.

This looks like the Spurs are dragging their feet on offering the Super Max and this is a ploy to force their hand. If the Spurs and Kawhi have not directly communicated this is all for show. It’s one thing to say he doesn’t care about the money now. It’s a whole other story to have a contract in front of you and not pick up the pen with his injury history.
