What is Trump's illegal immigration solution besides taking kids away from their families?

Or I guess, what some want - let them all come in.
This is the new "Gay marriage will lead to legalized bestiality."

Why can't you guys ever debate actual policies instead of worst-case scenario slippery slope versions?

Migrant Children Drugged Without Consent At Government Centers, Court Do ents Show

The allegations center on a mental health facility in Texas that has had problems in the past.

Staff working on the behalf of the Office of Refugee Resettlement are routinely drugging detained child migrants with psychotropics without their parents’ consent, according to legal filings.

The drugging allegations are among the most disturbing. One child cited in the lawsuit reported taking up to nine pills in the morning and another seven in the evening, without knowing what the medication was.

“ORR routinely administers children psychotropic drugs without lawful authorization,”

“When youth object to taking such medications, ORR compels them. ORR neither requires nor asks for a parent’s consent before medicating a child, nor does it seek lawful authority to consent in parents’ stead.

Instead, ORR or facility staff sign ‘consent’ forms anointing themselves with ‘authority’ to administer psychotropic drugs to confined children.”

    the problem is widespread.

One child, identified in court records as Julio Z., said staff at Shiloh thew him to the floor and forced him to take medication.

He said he witnessed staff pry another child’s mouth open to force him to swallow a pill.

When Julio Z. attempted to refuse the medication, he said the doctor ignored him.

“They told me that if I did not take the medicine I could not leave,” Julio Z. said, according to the court records. “That the only way I could get out of Shiloh was if I took the pills.”

“Sometimes they give me forced injections,” another child, identified as Rosa L., said. “One or two staff hold my arms, and the nurse gives me an injection.”

Julio Z. reported gaining 45 pounds in a matter of two months.

A mother of a child identified in court records as Isabella M. said the medications were so powerful that her daughter repeatedly fell because she couldn’t walk.

Young immigrants detained in Virginia center allege abuse

Immigrant children as young as 14 housed at a juvenile detention center in Virginia say

they were beaten while handcuffed and

locked up for long periods in solitary confinement,

    left nude and

    shivering in concrete cells.

The abuse claims against the Shenandoah Valley Juvenile Center near Staunton, Virginia, are detailed in federal court filings that include a half-dozen sworn statements from Latino teens jailed there for months or years.

Multiple detainees say the guards stripped them of their clothes and strapped them to chairs with bags placed over their heads.

“Whenever they used to restrain me and put me in the chair, they would handcuff me,”

said a Honduran immigrant who was sent to the facility when he was 15 years old.

“Strapped me down all the way, from your feet all the way to your chest, you couldn’t really move. ...

They have total control over you.

They also put a bag over your head.

It has little holes; you can see through it. But you feel suffocated with the bag on.”

In addition to the children’s first-hand, translated accounts in court filings, a former child-development specialist who worked inside the facility independently told The Associated Press this week that

she saw kids there with bruises and broken bones they blamed on guards.

She spoke on condition of anonymity because she was not authorized to publicly discuss the children’s cases.

What's better - family detention or family separation. Or I guess, what some want - let them all come in.
false dilemma, neither is necessary. DJT should scrap his unsustainable zero tolerance policy and give immigration officials the discretion they used to have not to detain people at all.

the rate of non-compliance has been wildly exaggerated. believe it or not, we've got ways to keep track of immigrants we do not detain.

yes, Obama did it too. let's stop doing it.

Many liberals contend Obama never ripped babies from the arms of screaming parents. They should ask, for example, the over 150,000 immigrant children separated from their parents due to detention and deportation proceedings in 2012 if that’s true. Or the over 500,000 immigrant children, who experienced separation between 1998 and that year.

The majority of those children were under 10 years-old. Over 5,000 were placed into foster care. Specifically, these were children whose parents were deported, not minors who came to the border unaccompanied.

It's unfortunate. We don't put American kids with their imprisoned parents. Where do they go?

You're certainly acting like kids should be taken away and placed hundreds of miles from their parents who are charged with a misdemeanor with no set protocol for reuniting them.

    Is that your belief, Darrin?

    Give your take on it.
