But why did Parker say what he said? Why take it there??

The guy who’s RUPTURED HIS QUAD tendon and played within 6 months called out a guy who’s quad is sore with calcium build up or whatever you wanna call it lol...still hasn’t played and not only that LEFT the team and was not keeping his teammates in the loop. They’re busting their ass trying to stay alive and all they wanted to know was if he was coming back...Kawhi missed his own deadline to return and they wanted to know what’s up...,the worst part. He couldn’t or wouldn’t give them an answer and left he team again...

You’re a Top 5 player in the league...If KD, LeBron or anybody else pulled this stunt they’d be getting obliterated...only reason why Kawhi didn’t is because they the media knew before all this he had Lakers in his sight..

That’s the most ed up part...he wanted out before all of this and then used his injury and frustration against PATFO to make them not the understanding ones..while paying him max salary meanwhile taking away all their control. Spurs tried to play ball but it didn’t work because it was NEVER gonna work.

It would’ve been hard for Kawhi and their camp to play their card if he played and Spurs won 60 games again..they couldn’t take that risk..so miss the season stay healthy and watch the team go down In flames
    Great take! Totally agree!

There's no other side in this story, kid...

This is a basic, one face, one dimension story...
There is never just one side of a story...I'm not obtuse to think that.

This isn't Kindergarten, son. 10x worse happesn in every locker room in every team. People clashing, even fighting but they're pro and don't give a in a vacuum.
Jordan punched Kerr in practice once. Do you think Kerr went crying and ask for a trade ? No, He man upped and got respect for that.
I feel sorry for you if you really think this is how today NBA works for players, media, agents...

Is Kawhi tradeable if he gets the Supermax? I mean, he has to be Jordanesque with that kind of money or he's not worth near that kind of cap killing money over 5 years.

Spurs locker room is very tame compared to other NBA locker rooms. Even in the Warriors locker room there have been confrontations with Draymond and just about everybody on that team. For Kawhi to not be able to handle what Manu and Tony said and to get his feelings hurt is lame. He's going to be in a world of pain when he's in a real NBA locker room and have to deal with strong personalities clashing with him.

If he doesn’t suffer an injury, for sure. Easily.

My guess is the Spurs aren't convinced. I'm guessing that if the Spurs offered the super max, the family would come together and bury the hatchet.

Would be crazy of Kawhi and Spurs agreed to an extension on his birthday or if he were traded on his birthday.

Dumbest I've ever read. . So Kawhi is beasting in the play-offs, gets injured, rehabs, comes back for 9 games and then quits on the team just because? makes lots of sense.
Leonard goes into the playoffs no hamstring issues just sprained ankle, sprains his ankle again, misses rest of the playoffs because of sprained, goes to China, comes back to the Spurs training camp with hamstring issues, can’t play. If anybody ed up it was he and HIS GROUP in the off season.

Deep, do you think that the Spurs believe Kawhi is a 100% healthy?

I do. I believe they would not have cleared him otherwise.

Who knows but I'm pretty sure that Kawhi or any other franchise he will ask for a trade if an old teammate calling him out in front of media and the team keeps the vet instead of supporting the franchise player.
No, most NBA players would hash it out man to man, not demand a trade. Just another lame excuse from Leonard and his supporters.

SA not offering SM has nothing to do with health. If SA believes that a SM offer would be accepted, I think they will try to trade him and keep that in their back pocket in the event they can’t get a good offer. But I think SA is over Kawhi and even if they want to keep him would be hesitate to offer that contract now. But nothing to do with health.

Is this the part I will tell you he would have signed a supermax deal if the Spurs would have offered him?...That Jabari Young and Shams said his camp was ready to do it just a few weeks ago..Then Spurs denied his camp the deal and Woj wrote the Spurs were a long way from the supermax offer and that's why his camp asked for a trade...If he would have signed that deal, no trade/ no drama.

I've told you this 100 times...

The only reason he got called out was because he wouldn't man up and talk to his teammates about what was going on. Dude was MIA in the locker room, on the bench, etc. , he couldn't even be bothered to call his teammates and tell them what was going on.

He deserved to get called out.

And come on man. Golden State's players have called each other out (looking at Draymond in particular), no one there seemed to mind it when they were getting the call out in the press, yet they're having more fun than SA?

    All weak crap.

Maybe, maybe not. After knowing what happened to the Spurs, I think his next coach/teammates would be very careful about the way they treat him if they want him to stay after 1 year rental.

Agreed. Kawhi is allowed to feel slighted by Parker's comments, but reacting like this is just weak minded .

Also, Jalen Rose called that Kawhi wanted out of San Antonio and had his sights set on L.A. well before Pop and Parker's comments or the players only meeting. At the time it was quickly dismissed but...well, here we are, so it's hard to believe that Jalen didn't really have his finger on the pulse.

Kawhi is just using those as an excuse to paint the Spurs as the bad guy here.

But anyway, the Tony comment thing is middle-school level logic; not surprising from the helmet crowd here though.
report said kawhi was irate with tony’s comment.

I would tell the Lakers I want their 2020, 2022, 2024, first round draft picks.

The end, the have a crap ton of pressure right now to get Kawhi Leonard if they want Lebron James. If they had Kawhi right now, Lebron would already be agreeing to go there.

I've said many times since March...It doesn't matter why he said that. If a team lets frustration makes them to say in public things they shouldn't..It's not a smart decision.

Just imagine if Adams starts to call PG13 out because he disappears in crucial games last season in front of media...Do you think it's the best moment to do it?

Or a LBJ teammate says that LeBron manipulated the franchise and the locker room, that he asked FO to fire Blatt and not trade RC/Thompson?
You could think that what he's saying is true but this is it the best time to do it while the Cavs wants to keep their franchise player? No.

Like it or not, Pop, Parker and Manu's comments weren't fine.

Sorry man, but you are reaching. If kawhi wants to be in SA he doesn’t let that be an issue. Parker knew he was bailing and called him out, but that really doesn’t matter anyway. If kawhi wants to be in sa then he stays. No player in the league is that sensitive.
