With a guarantee that he resigns long-term? It would be a tough decision but I'm a gambler and would probably roll the dice.

My reservations would lie with Kawhi's physical and mental well-being though (as stated before). If we're talking pre-injury/drama Kawhi, it's a no-brainer. Do the deal.
He would re-sign. He already said that and told SA that.

Even with “injury” concerns we know that are BS, you would pair Jordan/Pippen (Lebron/Kawhi). Theres no young talent that is truly worth holding that up.

It’s dumb. LA is playing the leverage game vs just doing a damn deal they know is great so they can “extract value”. Cool. You can also lose Kawhi and piss him off by not trading for him. Really worth Kuzma to do that?

Kawhi one injury season away from getting Boogie level interest. I hope Lebron pulls diva and tells them to not get him. Make him the face for the clippers as Sob City.

    Jabari starting to break

    ..

One thing for sure Kawhi and the gots surrounding him like Jabari have overplayed their hands pretty badly..Dude's reputation has gone the Dwight post-Magic way..

, it is even more in toilet now than Dwert's at any point..

So I'm assuming the Spurs are keeping him? Because this definitely won't help the trade offers.

If the offer was the hypothetical one you previously mentioned, I might be inclined to agree with you, but the current offer is asinine and it would be absolutely mental to give up all those assets for a player with questionable health and an even more questionable desire for the game. Either he is legitimately injured, which is a concern...or he's a lying headcase. If you were a GM you'd give up every conceivable asset for that? It's smarter to let it play out, see if he's mentally/physically right, then try to grab him for free. Of course it's no guarantee he signs here in 2019, but I like that gamble over the former.

Plus, let's not forget that all our young guys (Ingram, Ball, Kuzma, Hart) have a high probability of increasing their own value after another year of improvement.

I don’t think so, but it matches other reporting during the year.

I doubt Pop would let Kawhi determine when he was going to play without some practice reps with the team.

Quit hating for once. Leonard is damaged goods & a cancer, Ingram is a star in the making. Aside from Tatum, there is not a better young prospect the Spurs could hope for.
As the season moves on, a deal is going to get done. Lakers have the risk that Leonard and Spurs do make up.

Everyone in the league knows that Leonard is being handled very poorly by his family and will have to deal with this family if ever he's signed.

    Jabari starting to break

I think Jabari doesn't realize he's a reporter, which requires some sort of ethics. He was lambasting the Spurs that they are too rigid and Spurs comments led to Kawhi asking for a trade. Now, having more context to the situation, it seems pretty clear that uncle Dennis orchestrated this saga to push Kawhi out of San Antonio. He knew eventually the Spurs would respond to their unprofessional behavior and then tried to use the media to push their narrative. So Jabari's response to all this is to deflect instead of reporting the truth. He is such a tool.

I can see that logic; perfectly understandable but everyone knows Kawhi isn’t injured. There is a reason Magic and Co have gone to great lengths to tamper for him

But still, even if you believe that, even though you know Dame is healthy, you also know his ceiling and he’s worse than Kyrie and is that enough? Kawhi’s upside is still so much higher than Dames that IMO he’s one of the only true stars outside of Harden, AD, KD and Curry (which aren’t currently available) that can truly help LA win.
No arguments here. I surely wouldn't want to be RC right about now

I doubt Leonard attends USA camp. He won’t face the media until he’s re-signed, traded, or training camp.

Many of you salivating at Leonard having to face the media in SA but I feel sorry for the circus it creates for the other guys. They’ll be hounded again everyday. That has to to suck after going through it last season. Can you imagine the daily peppering questions they’ll get? Was he engaged in practice? Was he there the entire time? Did he participate in film sessions? Was he hostile to any of the players and coaches? Anything happen in the lockerrom? Has he attended all the team meetings? Things looked chippy between him and said player in the timeout. What did Leonard do? Is he engaged or just going through the motions?

SA might want to stick it to Leonard and company but hard to believe they’d put the team through that again.

As much as I would love to see him go, his MO is now to skip out of things. At the very least, going to the team USA camp would prove he's health physically ...

My friend, Kawhi Leonard is the ULTIMATE value for those young guys. Nothing they could do could improve their value enough to get more than Kawhi. Nothing. That is peak value without even having to prove they are worth it.

I wonder if Team USA would ask Leonard not to attend? They might not want the ugly attention this could bring.
