That is nauseating. What an absolute roster to be over the cap with. Simple Jack, some geriatric s and a bunch of ing scrubs is all we have to show for it.
A 20 million dollar a year commitment to a team leader who refuses to play is a big deal

I've met him a few times and he's very aloof. If you speak French, are famous or have something he wants though, he will give you the time of day. Otherwise, he wouldn't piss on you if you were on fire.
It's kind of strange. Coach Pop is very friendly in person (I'm sure as long as you don't annoy him anyways) and that seems to be the whole culture with the team, it's surprising that one of the big 3 is like that with fans. Most of the players I've met (Sean Elliott, Manu, LMA, Patty) were all friendly albeit short. Borrego seemed like a really cool guy, Pop was outgoing. Never met Duncan but I was training BJJ at Pete Spratt's gym on 1604 one time and he came in and said hi to Pete apparently Duncan's a big MMA fan and friends with Pete Spratt. Didn't get to meet him but he seemed to have the same Duncan demeanor you would expect. And of course David Robinson is far and beyond the friendliest of any athlete I've ever met.

Some of the tasteless posts in this thread... ing "fans".

Tony, thank you for all the moments, the crazy drives, being the fastest player in the league for so long. You were a cornerstone of the most winningest franchise in modern American sports and enjoy the loot and then get your jersey hung, you've had your HOF ticket punched for awhile.

People who claim to be "fans" and hate one of the greatest players in team history aren't fans. The only person who has a legitimate beef against the Frenchman is Brent Barry.

PS good on ya, Tony. Go make your money and enjoy your role on that team, playing for MJ. I'll still be there when your jersey goes up in the rafters

Never thought this day would come. I hoped he would sign for the minimum but I guess this is the best for both Tony and the Spurs.

ing weird man. already getting me nostalgic.

No hate for Parker. He was one of my favorite players to watch. 6 foot 1 man fast break, spin moves and posting up bigs, reliable mid range most his prime years, and a beautiful floater.
Going to miss those one man fast breaks!

He played a very long time as a Spur. At least he's going to a team with his buddy Batum.

Nah, what's going to happen is that Tony is going to play those 2 years with Charlotte and in 2021 he's going to sign a $1.00 contract with San Antonio (like Paul Pierce did w/ the Celtics) and retires as a Spur.

This doesn't change anything. He'll still retire a Spur.

With you on that one. Parker still wants playing time. Him and Kemba will be a great combo for Charlotte.

Thanks for the memories, TP. All trolling aside, best Spurs PG ever. It was time to move on though.

#9 will be on the rafters some day.
They should put #9 up in the rafters first time Parker visits. He deserves it.

It is almost officially the modern NBA in SA. One more domino to fall, the Argentinian wonder.

With Tony gone, I wonder if that makes SA a tad more appealing to Kawhi-baby?

Michael Jordan played with a Wizards jersey.

Hakeem Olajuwon played with a Raptors jersey.

So it happens to even the best of them.

TP should have retired a Spur but unfortunately he wanted to keep playing when he's been done for almost 3 seasons now tbh. Getting paid in CHA w/ Batum and under Borrego should be a good send-off for him tho.

Had the Dubs not bought next year's le already, I could see Manu coming back with TP gone for Pop's loyalty but why go through the grind in a lost season? I know he's one of the biggest compe ors of all-time but he's also expressed wanting to be there more often for his kids. I'd retire if I were him, tbh.
