I am a fan of Kyle. I really like all the little things he does. I do get frustrated with his scoring though. He should be more efficient and effective at this point in his career. I want him to be a Spur, but not at that price. I hope we don't match, but it stings that he goes to a division foe.

He's not particularly good at anything, therefore he's a perfect fit.
If Anderson had the attributes that fans wanted him to have, which they feel makes this offer sheet excessive, he'd be a max player.
Everybody's complaints including mine about Fathead are all gonna be moot anyways tbh. Of course Drunkford is gonna match this.
I'd be surprised if he didn't throw an additional 14-16mil at this slow .
There's always room for 6'9" to 6'10" tall players with handles who defend in today's NBA. Anderson does a little bit of everything. He's a good role player and this is a role player contract in 2018. If the Spurs opt not to match I think that's a good indicator that they are moving quickly into rebuilding (the other so far is letting TP walk as opposed to keeping him around for a couple years for small $ as Murray's backup) in life after Leonard.
I’m pretty indifferent to this. I’d lean towards not matching and maintaining as much financial flexibility into next offseason as possible. Spurs may need to take on a bad contract to get a good pick and shot at a new superstar.
This is a solid role player contract, but you can always buy solid role players on the market. Figure out who your franchise cornerstones are going to be first, then spend to fill role players in around them.
But not a bad decision to match either, if they go that way. Kyle has value. As a bonus he’s from my old neighborhood in Jersey so I’ll always be a fan.

I'd rather go cheap here for cap flexibility, if the team were a contender right now I'd say yeah it's a good contract

They are going to match. Kyle is a known quan y. Contract isn’t as crazy high when I first saw it. I wish they would let him walk, but they won’t.
Realistically, there's no scenario where it makes sense to match, tbh... he's just about above D-League talent, needs the ball a lot to be involved, and his ceiling is bench player at best.
Unless something magical happens in a Kawhi trade, the Spurs are unlikely to be compe ive this season, there's no sense in committing long term $10m a year on this kind of talent.
He made sense on a rookie deal, as a project, to learn his ceiling. Better use that roster spot on a new project, or bringing in somebody from Europe on a cheaper/shorter deal.
The front office who signed fathead is very telling. They also thought Parsons would be good again. #1 12:01 target
I don't buy the SAEN report. Spurs are going to match. it's not a bad price all things considered (just the 4 years and trade kicker suck ass) but in a year of a lot of turnaround with no other SF on the roster except Rudy, I think SA - always one to value 'corporate knowledge' - will match the offer. i'd be really surprised if they didnt
