’m pretty indifferent to this. I’d lean towards not matching and maintaining as much financial flexibility into next offseason as possible. Spurs may need to take on a bad contract to get a good pick and shot at a new superstar.
This is a solid role player contract, but you can always buy solid role players on the market. Figure out who your franchise cornerstones are going to be first, then spend to fill role players in around them.
But not a bad decision to match either, if they go that way. Kyle has value. As a bonus he’s from my old neighborhood in Jersey so I’ll always be a fan.
