Lonnie didn't look too thrilled on draft day and LMA wanted to be traded a year ago. Danny would probably leave if he could find a suitor willing to pay him, and DJ most likely won't be here beyond free agency. Tough to guage happiness. You can put on a smiling face but that doesn't mean the player is happy. Kawhi Leonard is walking proof of that.
This is one of those stupid zombie ideas. I never saw that reaction on draft night.

I remember Lonnie crying when he got drafted, I guess he just didn’t like the Spurs that much.
He was probably crying because now he can afford to feed his family.

People may or may not laugh at this. His CARMELO value prediction:

He's a generalist role player as opposed to a specialist. A guy like him makes sense if you are a playoff team. Right now that's the question for the 2018-19 season, are the Spurs thinking rebuild or not?

Memphis would give him an opportunity to significantly raise his usage, Conley and Gasol play a lot more off the ball than Aldridge/Murray, they just lost Tyreke Evans and his huge offensive load..they don't have any other notable players..

Would be a nice, low-pressure opportunity on a lottery team..

He's already a starter on a good team.
And you’re fine with him starting last year ? You think we could a top 3-4 team in the West with him starting ? I like him but i’m not sure about the level he will reach.

You don’t sign Beli and bring back Rudy if you are thinking rebuild.

A tactful way of saying, My son doesn't want to be here. The PATFO seems to have lost complete control of the team.
Lol. Go to his Twitter page. He reps the spurs proudly.

I'm sure his dad's motivations in saying "larger role" had to do with securing his son a larger contract.

I have zerodoubts that if the Spurs match he'll happily continue being a part of the organization.

It's people like you that make fandom maddening. First , you don't know . Second, you're quick to criticize. Third, you're slow in giving credit.

    Tl;dr--get bent.

Kyle Anderson is the perfect example of why people who look at nothing but analytics will never get the whole story. What analytic shows the amount of fear that was clearly evident on Anderson's face everyone he had an open shot off a rotation in the playoffs?

1 and 2 year deals retain flexibility. With Gasol contract and green opting in we weren’t going to be players in free agency.

Exactly. They brought in Parsons to be a point forward. They want creation from that spot. Parsons was injured they brought in Tyreke to help fill the playmaking void but Marc/JJJ/Kyle would be a very solid defensive unit and they can have offensive tools.

They could have easily traded Green and Gasol if they wanted cap space. 2 year deals aren’t flexibility. Beli being on a 2 year deal shows they wanted a player.

That was in place before free agency opened up. As the situation with Leonard went from bad to worse, perhaps the plan has changed...

He average almost 27 minutes per game. Don't blame the Spurs organization because Kyle was afraid to shoot. The Spurs gave him every opportunity for a larger role and he didn't want it bad enough.

No way the Spurs match. Memphis' contract is fully guaranteed AND includes a 15% trade kicker - making his contract pretty much impossible to move if we want roster flexibility. Let him walk.

I don’t think anything with Leonard was not expected..Beli is not good enough to honor some agreement if you needed to pivot IMO

They're both on short deals though. This Kyle's deal would put him past LMA's contract, IIRC.

EDIT: spurraider beat me to it

We were a top of the bracket team up until the moment they learned Kawhi want coming back. The team lost concentration and a lot of games after that.

No, it changed from Pop and Kawhi will talk things out after the season to the trade demand, intent of only signing with the Lakers next offseason, and the continued holdout nonsense.

Kyle is a good kid and his is making millions of dollars doing something he loves no need to be upset if he moved to Memphis. But the fact remains he was never starting material and add to that fact is that he was scarred to shoot the ball and never developed a 3 ball shot which he desperately needed makes him replaceable.

The Kawhi saga has probably made RC and Pop totally rethink what the direction they are going to take going forward but in today's NBA you need shooters and this is not Kyles game.

2 year deals are flexibility. It’s still short term and after a year he’s an expiring contract and a known commodity

Lol, nice try. Case in point... **You** just criticized PATFO over this. Now in the turn of 1 post you flipped to criticizing KA?

    Pick one, schizo.

Your reading comprehension is the problem here. I was responding to your reply. What does that tell you? Don't act like he wanted to leave for a larger role. He was given every opportunity for a larger role and he didn't want it bad enough.
