tbh I didn't think Southgate would be stupid enough to not press the Croats to tire them out. England had very good speed in Lingard, Sterling, Rashford, Walker, etc .. should've used these nigs to harass Croatia more. Croatia adjusted with nice 2 man rotations with modric/rakitic/brozovic and England (as always) couldn't adapt to this simple strategy to break the press. So they stopped pressing at all after ~20 mins. That's life I guess, southgate isn't a good tactician so this simple tweak threw his tactics off. It also wasn't helpful that all these nigs are dumb and can't coordinate or communicate effectively. Look at the croats, always signalling each other when pressing.
