Why should the Senate consider this guy at all, when the president is actively under investigation for potential treason?
non-male, non-white, of course
Senator cancels Supreme Court nominee meeting, cites Trump being an 'unindicted co-conspirator'
Senator Mazie Hirono (D-HI)
Senator Hirono has had enough and is leading the charge to stop the Judge Kavanaugh Supreme Court nomination in its tracks.
This is the proper framing for all Democrats.
There is no universe where it should be acceptable for a president embroiled in a criminal investigation,
one that is inching closer and closer to his doorstep by the minute,
to have the privilege of nominating a Supreme Court nominee to a lifetime appointment.
Even worse,
a judge who may very well end up presiding over Donald Trump’s own cases before the court.

Why should the Senate consider this guy at all, when the president is actively under investigation for potential treason?
Because Repugs don't give a about "optics", morals, ethics, laws, or anything except robotically doing whatever the oligarchy pays them to do, and ing Catholic K will vote with the oligarchy's SCOTUS s and for Christian Sharia 100%.

SCOTUS nominee Kavanaugh tried to severely limit 9/11 victim fund payouts in 2001
the New York Daily News reports that Kavanaugh wanted to severely limit the federal government’s liability to do so in the aftermath of the attacks.
In October 2001—while America was still deep in nationwide mourning for the victims of the deadly attacks—Kavanaugh, in his capacity as an associate White House counsel, proposed to an aide to George W. Bush that
a cap of a mere $500,000 be established on payments for the victims.
Fortunately, the suggestion didn’t stick. Kenneth Feinberg, who was put in charge of the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund, didn’t put any limits on the amount of payout 9/11 victims and families could receive.
To put Kavanaugh’s proposed limit into perspective, consider this:
- Feinberg ultimately used factors like “pain and suffering” plus “economic loss” stemming from a victim’s death to calculate figures.
- Payment amounts ultimately ranged from $220,000 to $7,100,000.
- Ninety-five victims who didn’t use the fund sued the airlines. They received over $500 million in a settlement.
While it’s understandable that it was his job as White House counsel to take the government’s interests into account,
the fact that
he could so heartlessly work actively to protect the government at the expense of victims and their families is chilling.
It provides yet more evidence that Kavanaugh doesn’t hesitate to throw victims under the bus if needed to protect the powerful ins utions in charge.

White House Cites Executive Privilege to Withhold 100,000 Pages of Kavanaugh Records
The Trump White House, citing executive privilege, is withholding from the Senate more than 100,000 pages of records from Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh’s time as a lawyer in the administration of former President George W. Bush.
Democrats say that Republicans are blocking access to the do ents as part of an effort to ram through the nomination without proper scrutiny.
later served as staff secretary to the president, a role that required him to vet do ents before they reached the president’s desk. None of the staff secretary records have been released because Mr. Grassley did not request them — another point of contention between Republicans and Democrats.
are held by the National Archives and subject to release under the Presidential Records Act. But the White House, after consulting with the Justice Department, decided that certain records should not be released,
Senate Democrats said this was the first time that a sitting president has exerted executive privilege under the Presidential Records Act in order to prevent do ents from going to Congress during a Supreme Court confirmation process.

Support for Republicans and for Kavanaugh crumbles
The Post-ABC News poll has more dreadful results for Republicans.
Democrats’ lead in the generic polling is 14 points (52 percent to 38 percent).
(A new USA Today/Suffolk poll puts Democrats’ margin at 11 points.)
The Republican Party as a whole gets poor marks for “being in touch with most people’s concerns” (31 percent say in touch, 63 percent say not), including 69 percent of independents.
Democrats’ numbers aren’t great, but are substantially better than Republicans’ — 40 percent say in touch, 51 percent say not.
As for President Trump, specifically, 63 percent say he’s out of touch.
Among independents, 67 percent say he’s out of touch.
Even Trump’s two groups of core voters think he’s out of touch — white non-college-educated (50/47) and rural voters (53/44).
(Interestingly, 72 percent of respondents say that if Democrats win the majority, they will try to impeach Trump.
Democratic lawmakers insist that they haven’t made up their minds.)
Only 38 percent think the Senate should confirm; 39 percent do not. (Among independents, 35 percent say confirm, 37 percent say don’t confirm.)
Only 29 percent of women want him confirmed.
College-educated whites are narrowly divided (41 percent for, 42 percent against).
Regionally, Kavanaugh’s confirmation gets strong thumbs down in the Northeast (33/43 percent) and the West (33/46) —
which should be of note to the GOP pro-choice senator from Maine (Susan Collins) and from Alaska (Lisa Murkowski).

White Man Hopes to Land Job Without Background Check
WASHINGTON —A fifty-three-year-old white man from Washington, D.C., is hoping to land a six-figure job for life without being subjected to a thorough background check, the man confirmed on Tuesday.
The man, Brett Kavanaugh, said that
he was “pretty chill” about his upcoming job interview because he had been assured that “anything super damaging” had been removed from his H.R. file.
“There’s some stuff in my past—especially, like, from the nineties—that would be kind of heinous if anyone looked into it,”
Kavanaugh said. “Fortunately,
I know someone in H.R. and he took, like, a hundred thousand pages out of my file.”
The Washington native said that he had been assured that
his job interview would be led by a group of other white men who “won’t ask me anything too hard.”
“They were, like, ‘Just smile a lot and nod your head and you’re in, dude,’ ” he said.
Kavanaugh said he was “blown away” when he learned about the benefits package that comes with his prospective job.
“When my friend in H.R. told me it was
$255,300 a year for life, even after you retire, and no background check,
I was, like, ‘You have got to be ting me,’ ” he said.
“I don’t care who you are. That’s sweet.”

Senator Whitehouse dropped some truth bombs exposing Repugs dark money corruption and Kavanaugh's own corruption and partisanship. Durbin challenged Kavanaugh to step up to the plate and call off these hearings if he has nothing to hide- to allow the complete do entation to be released and reviewed.
Republicans working hard to shield a president - who is an un-indicted co-conspirator in felonies to pick the justice who has openly stated that a sitting president is above the law.

This is just a show. For the past 12 years Kavanaugh was appellate court judge. All his decisions for the past 12 years are already public - no need to release anything. Prior to becoming appellate court judge he had been already confirmed by the senate - that happened in 2006. It means his work prior to 2006 already went through senate confirmation hearing. Today senators are complaining they did not get to see more of the papers from the time long gone they already reviewed. Please also note result of that hearing in 2006. At that time confirmation required 60 votes. He was confirmed with 67 votes. All 57 republicans voted for him as well as 10 Democrats. Among Democrats who voted for judge kavanaugh most notable were future president Barack Obama, future Vice President Biden and Diane Feinstein. 30 Democrats voted against and 3 Democrats did not vote at all. I bet this time all senators already know all they need to know. Their votes are either already decided or will be determined by external factors. For instance - when will the vote take place. If vote takes place before election - some democrats will be forced to vote for Kavanaugh to keep their seats.
security reasons if you read the article
A source familiar with the encounter said that Kavanaugh did not know who he was and security intervened to end the exchange before there could even be a handshake.
The source explains an unidentified person approached Judge Kavanaugh. His security detail quickly stepped in because they did not know who the person was. When that occurred, and as security moved Judge Kavanaugh away from the man and toward an exit, the man began shouting at Judge Kavanaugh.
