For every conservative who is a kneejerk skeptic of women who come forward with claims of assault, there is a liberal who believes that women would never lie about being assaulted (an argument that comes directly to blows with many examples in the Jim Crow era of white women claiming to have been assaulted by black men.)
Women should be heard and respected, but due process is still paramount. When you set the expectation that every woman who claims to have been assaulted is telling the truth, that bar cannot be cleared by the reality of a nation with 300+ million people, and examples like this high school student (which are the exception, not the norm) become easy targets to contradict the effort.

That is not what is being said. You can believe the allegation, respect the victim and then conduct a proper investigation where the truth and the facts can be found. If the allegations are false - then the accuser can be prosecuted.
The Kavanaugh thing was nothing but a coverup - start to finish. There was PLENTY of corroboration and cir stantial evidence to call this a credible allegation.

A real investigation would have gotten very close to what happened to Dr. Ford - which is plain to see - which is Kavanaugh and his buddy attacked her in a drunken state and could not remember. His friend probably remembers it - but he was allowed to get off the hook of a real FBI interrogation.
Impeachment will be a proper thing to do and those cowardly Dems better not shrink from the job.
I agree that can be done, I disagree that it's all people want. Many of the most vocal proponents, unfortunately, demand action and consequences before due process can even take place. (You may argue that losing a job is not the same as prosecution and imprisonment but it's still a consequence that is difficult to overcome, and it does happen.)
I think you're projecting your more reasonable view of the issue onto all liberals. Unfortunately, not everyone shares (or can afford to share, in the case of many businesses) your cautious approach.

For me, the impeachable offenses are his lying to Congress to snag both Federal judgeships, totally verified as liar.
There are plenty of witnesses that say he was a drunken party animal, not his LIE that he was serious person / altar boy.
That he is emotionally unsuitable is secondary, but hard to prosecute.
