Better than leaving next offseason for free and leaving Drunkford looking like the cuck he is.

This is PATFO's fault and only theirs. Whether it was the roster that he wanted no part of, or the medical staff. You can't spin it.

Haha.. you can't seriously believe that.
They it up. No other way around it. They had a top 3 player in the league and they let him go.

I know Kawhi and his uncle are monumental es, but I'm sure there are many things down the line that the Spurs could have done to keep Kawhi happy.

now, this toronto team is really the best option for lenoard, no pressure, a good defense without him expending effort. With the spurs he was expected to anchor the defense and had the pressure of succeeding duncan and meeting pop's expectations. The dude jut can't handle emotional pressure and doesn't want to work hard like duncan did. No shame in that.

Spot on, Kawhi leaving has set this franchise back at least ten years back

Like sell their souls to the devil? Our situation looks bleak right now mainly because Murray went down but I'm happy Pop stood by his principle and didn't kiss that 's ass just for some extra wins.

Yup. Not everyone wants to be a defensive anchor while scoring 30+ each night only so the credit can go to the old Caucasian.

    Kawhi is freed.

I mean, judging by the sequence of events, they didn't even offer him the max and that was the final straw.

Not offering the max to the 2nd best player in the NBA. What were they pinching pennies for? Even if he ended up with a chronic injury, it's not as if anyone on Leonard's level would ever sign here.

Guess they needed to save money for the inevitable Fatty Mills loyalty contract coming up.

Yeah, that. There's no guarantee he wouldn't have just ran home after this year anyways. Or if he'd gotten the supermax, just faked another injury to force his way out.

Toronto is damn scary and not everything has clicked yet.

Leonard and Lowry will get He most credit but Green is solid once again.

LMAO, ICY HOT green is on a hot streak, he can't sustain that for a whole season. Toronto is a nice team, but they have not done yet, and should not be assumed to be as good as the warriors. I will say they are probably the best non-warriors team but not by much.

Even if Leonard was playing with a chronic injury, he'd still be the best player on the team for the forseeable future. There are less than 10 guys in the NBA that deserve a supermax contract and Kawhi's one of them. Even Westbrook got one and OKC is a smaller market than the Spurs.

Jakob ing Poeltl. What an alcoholic piece of our GM is. European bigs are supposed to shoot 3's, and this stupid has a hard-on for Milutinov and Poeltl.

It's not like DeRozan is averaging 2.0 points a game. The only thing bad about the deal was Jakob Bonner tbh.

I'm actually very happy KL left. WE weren't going to win with him and we couldn't come up with a team that catered to him without ditching the whole team. If he were more mature he could negotiate to jettison pop, but pop's control over the spurs drove him away, and no one from his group wanted to confront pop's expectation.

Derozan has more points than him after two games, tbh.
