Why would you think the Spurs "got nothing in return"? Have you...not noticed that our best player was acquired in that trade?

You can say it wasn't equal value, or even close to that, but that isn't "nothing."

Right now you have to put Giannis up there (he's still slightly overrated imo) while the Bucks are undefeated and blowing teams away. KD and Steph will take votes of each other but have been phenomenal.

Giannis, Steph, Kawhi, KD, AD, Jokic are the current candidates.

If Toronto has the best record in the League (or at least close to Golden State and better than any other team by 3+ wins) and Kawhi puts up 25+ PPG on ~50-40-90 along with all world D i think he will win it. Toronto will have to be a Top 5 D in the league too i think to get the media hyping Kawhi even more.

Pels and Nuggets will fall of i think.. both will be good teams with about 50-55 wins but not enough for MVP for Jokic or AD. Bucks I'm not sold on yet although they are playing great. Cant see them winning ~60 like Toronto or GS.
lowry should be up there not kawhi.. lol

    don’t be blind..

Nash, Dirk, Tim, Lebron, KG better, tbh.
Lebron wasn’t what he was later on.

    Dirk wasn’t there yet

    Nash winning mvp was controversial

Garnett without sprewell and alien wasn’t all that.

Well, Shaq wouldn't have been that great on a sh** T-Wolves team either. Nash was MVP, back to back. Plenty of tears on that; maybe it's like Curry in which people think he gets over-rated. Lebron was a bit unripened from a non-statistical standpoint; but his effect on W's was not debatable. Dirk was pretty bad ass by 05, tbh. But I dunno; his team was pretty loaded. TD of course was maybe best all around. Shaq was not always in shape and on the downhill; but he could have games he looked like MDE; he just wasn't consistent at that point.

So what makes Kawhi a top three player right now?

Shaq finished second in mvp voting. Not sure what your backup is other than your unarguable opionion.

Kawhi is the only player who is top five on both sides of the ball. Is this really a debate for you?

Another vagina rest game for Kawhi. People gonna vote for a guy who plays 62 games?

Is he? How so? Based on what?

As of now he isn’t even clearly the best player on his own team.

But back on topic. What’s your argument for shaq not being a top 3 player in 04-05?

If anything last night Raps blowout loss makes Kwa look better.
Lowry honks took a hit with 3-14 and 0-9.

If he does end up playing only 62 then no MVP consideration.

I think he's now the best player in the world. He was clowning last year's 2nd year ROY and Embiid. Last year's 2nd year ROY got his trip dub - with 11 turnovers.

    Man I hope two things:

    1) He comes to LA or:
    2) He stays in Toronto

Either way is good with me. If he stays in Toronto, I can see him clowning on Tatum too. Obviously if he comes to LA that would be dope.

His improved play is undeniable. The Spurs ed up. Real bad. And you farmers took the Spurs side over his. All he wanted to do was get healthy. Now look at him thriving in Siberia

    Straight clowning:

    Sp*rs PATF

    * traded away the best player in the world

I remember Kobe's Pluto comments when he was the best in the game. The Lakers shipped Shaq out and kept Kobe in Purple and Gold Armor for 20 years. Sp*rs got all butthurt and deported their franchise player to Siberia

    * deported a player in his prime

And still finished second in mvp after the trade. So top three player.
MVP voting is subjective. He was loved by the media, therefore they voted for him. He was not the 1999 or 2000 Shaq by then. He was the same 450lb fatass that couldn't keep up with 82 year old Kevin Willis in 2003.

And why do you farmers give so much credence to MVPs anyway? Like the all star game it's a popularity contest.

I'm always skeptical of any accolades voted upon by white media. Especially MVPs and HOF. For example, Barry Bonds was a HOFer before he started juicing. Not gonna get in. WGAF if Pete Rose bet on baseball? His hit record will likely never be broken. Not gonna get in.

So when you farmers brag on the whitest brother (Jim) getting more MVPs/FMVPs than Kobe, I laugh.

Give me something tangible, not something objectively dependent upon if a white man likes you or not. WGAF?

Kobe is Uncle Tom jr after MJ.

Mvp voting is tangible. You’re the one who has nothing to back up.
