I was rooting for this guy so much, it's a shame the Spurs let him go to keep Pointdexter. I did not see great ball handling but I saw great hustle. Sometimes you need a energy, scrapper. That is who Blossomgame will become.
They probably let him go to evaluate Moore. QPon and Cunningham are just stopgaps.

In his 4th game as a rookie, he had a double/double in a loss to Milwaukee.

The Cavs suck, but when was the last time Davis Bertans for example put up a double/double?

In 3 years of NBA play, the answer is never. (BTW, not picking on Davis, but he's the one forward that came to mind, that I am pretty sure has never had one since I have been watching him, without having to do a basketball-reference search).

Yet we pick up guys who are marginally better, but are old and have no upside like Cunningham to do the same job.

Who cares about a double double? It's an artificial milestone. Why is ten some sort of greatness in any stat? Because you have no fingers left to count with?

FWIW, closest to a double double for Bertans is his career high 7 rebounds twice, once with 13 points, once with 12.
    Best game score was 28/3/0/0/2.

I admire Blossom for working his ass off and not giving up on his dream as they say hard work pays off. Peope on this board always fall in Love with certain G League players we see it happen every year we all love the under dog. But as someone pointed out Cunningham and Poindexter are one year rentals. I think the Spurs just realized that Ben Moore is a better prospect so they let Blossom go to try and find another team.

But even then Bertans has never had 9 rebounds in a game.

To be fair, Bertans can only count to nine and a half.

Must be a Bertans fan. Totally ignores the issue as if you were implying Blossomgame > Bertans when we should have BOTH guys on the roster.

    Absolutely. #Triggered.
Grabbing rebounds is a certified NBA skill, that not everyone has (Bertans below average for his size tbh). That he accomplished the feat in just his 4th NBA game means he has some NBA skill at least. Wishing him well.

And we should have CoJo and Anderson instead of Mills and Cunningham.

Before we put Blossomgame in the Hall of Fame, let's wait for him to do something other than hitting a couple three-pointers in a blowout. Before this game, he had been pretty terrible, tbh.

Still an impressive pick for 59 though
And like I've posted before, if a team refuses to sign the players they scouted and decided to draft, they don't deserve that much credit. It just reflects poorly on them to have a prospect on the table and ignore them or throw them away when the team doesn't have prime HoF players 1-15

Yup, makes no sense to brag about a drafted player if they never intend to play him. By timvp's logic, Spurs deserve no credit for Danny Green's career while Cavs should be lauded for drafting him 46th in the 2nd round.

LMAO, spurs get.credit.for.Danny because they developed him. Spurs don't get credit for jb's development, because he hasn't developed yet lol.

Back in the old days spurs fans knew, not every player was spurs material and we can be picky. Now they are so hungry for talent they want to start five g league dudes to see if they can out. Have some patience! Two first round picks are coming. Lonnie, white, Murray, poetle, and metu all have more upside and are getting playing time this year. That's enough for now. Next year seven young players.

Also.I think Eubanks could get 10/10 on a scrub team and boban would win mvp as a starter

Why did we sign Eubanks so quickly, again?
