I don’t see lottery at all.
assuming teams knew about how bad his offense is and how much his father is an ass, how bad he is mentally and how unathletic he is, i doubt his solid cheating D and bad actual D would get him drafted at all.

With that said, him being unathletic was debated and his father being annoying was obvious, and his shot being unfixable was a given, so I have no idea how did he get drafted #2.

People compared him to Kidd and I was just laughing. Kidd has elite speed and finishing ability. His court awareness was special bc he made the passes while going full speed which made it seem like the ball flew out of his hands. Lonzo to Kidd is akin to Forbes to Curry. What a horrible draft that year was lol

Another top PG taken to the Lonzo school of lockdown D

The victim today, Kemba Walker: 2 of 13, 4 points, 1 reb, 3 assists in 25 minutes

Also, in the process Lonzo dropped a cool triple-double on Kemba's head

How bout now? 16 points, 10 rebs, 10 dimes (vs 2 TOs) 5 steals, 1 block, +34 in 35 minutes.

And then he locked down an all star named Kemba (2-13, 4 points ).

This was probably his most complete game of his career so far. You might not realize it but he's only played 80 total games in his career (52 last year, 28 this year) so technically he's still a rookie.

He needed that type of game. As I watched, it didn't look like Kemba wanted no parts of him. I saw him cross somebody over then take it to the hole for a hammer dunk. I was like

Comparing Lonzo to that somali pirate Beverley. Terrible comparison

Lockdown Lonzo actually puts the clamps on s without resorting to dirty plays, trash talking and attempts to injure.

Kemba Walker has been shooting ~30% over the last 10 or so games and was held to 2-16 by Collin Sexton. I'd hardly call it an achievement tbh.

Kwame brown had a monster game vs Garnett and yet GBOAT couldn’t do crap with such an immense talent.

    For shame.

Right now overall Zo is trending for me as minor disappointment. He is NOT a savior and not a bust just under performing and inconsistent. I wanted Tatum but most of the rookies in that class have had similar issues with consistency, injury or performance. TATUM is inconsistent because of his role others like Fultz due to injury. Fox, Kuzma and Hart are exceeding expectations because they are shooting/scoring better than many anticipated...Tatum looks like only potential franchise guy but I think even he will nerd to be a #2 on Finals team... Finding the best player on a Finals contender is sooooo rare.

It’s not reasonable to expect a le winning franchise player in any draft. How many are there in the last thirty years? Shaq, Duncan, Lebron, maybe dirk (didn’t know until very late in his career). Then curry. Not sure about Durant as his teams are absolutely loaded. That’s it.

But as a second pick, you should be more a borderline all star than a hasheem thabeet type.

Lonzo has already done more than...
    Thabeet...
But I no longer defend Zo because tbh my gut tells me he will be traded but either way I want him and any young player to reach their potential

He’s probably going to be better than thasbeet. But from a 2nd pick perspective I’m thinking he’s at the bottom quartile of second picks in the last thirty years. He’s not a kidd Payton or Durant level for sure. He’s probably not even meeting the mcdyess Aldridge level, I’m not sure he’s at he camby level material. The closest he’s gonna he is like a Michael kidd gilchrist type. Solid defensive player with some bursts of offense once in a blue moon. But with the amount of hype he got, that would be a huge disappointment. Also, the quality of top picks has gotten worse and worse. Players are being drafted way too early and are picked based on physical attributes rather than basketball abilities because the scouts have little to go o.

Ball is a definition of a bust as a second pick so far. Just look at all the second pick in the last 30 years. He’s clearly not living up to it. If he’s playing in some backwater town like Charlotte or San Antonio, he’d be a poster boy for a bust.

Hes quick with the ball, hes arguably already an elite defender at his position, i cant call him beverley because beverley never had Ball’s passing ability nor rebounding ability nor has he ever recorded 29pts or a triple double

Lonzo’s offense is still worrisome yes. Keep in mind he did miss the entire summer due to injury, hes basically learning on the go right now, game by game. Very difficult thing to do. I think allowing him the next summer to really work on his game and then judging him in his 3rd season would be fair. Hes still just 21 years old and playing the most difficult position in the NBA. Everybody doesnt come into the league looking like Steph and Kyrie.

I think i can safely assume that his floor is at the least an effective NBA player, assuming the shooting improves, his ceiling could be higher than most think.

Lonzo’s floor looks like Rubio, his ceiling looks like Kidd.

i like that hes been more aggressive, looking to penetrate and attack the defense. Its a good sign regardless of the shot outcome.
