whittington was great. it was nice to see cuero get the win, too. only south texas team to get a le this year.
Because higher learning
Isn’t this the brother of the LB we took as PWO in this past cycle of 2018? Their father was a former player, I believe.
Correct, Dad Blake played at Texas and was an all American in 91. Older son Luke is a PWO currently.
Captain Obvious comment from me, but that could be your first 2021 commitment.
Either him or Landon Jackson would be the smart pick for first commitment from the 2021 class
Good guess too.
Jackson didn’t play today for Pleasant Grove but he met up with Whittington after the game and they were talking and laughing at midfield. I was really excited to see Malik Hornsby live for Marshall. I see the upside everyone raves about and maybe it was just a bad game but he didn’t impress at all. He looked uncomfortable. Credit Aledo’s defense obviously but Hornsby didn’t look the part of a five star kid. Jase McClellan on the other hand.. And someone on the coaching staff needs to check in with the LB from LaVega. That kid is a monster player. His name escapes me but he was number 15 and he was a “dog.” Mean as and was on almost every tackle.
JoJo Earle also looks like a stud. Good things he’s one of the 15 offers for the C/O 2021 so far.
that looks incredible! it will be an awesome all around venue as well.
The financing arrangement is interesting because it doesn't appear to actually cost UT anything to actually build:
https://www.texastribune.org/2018/12...ketball-arena/The University of Texas System Board of Regents on Thursday unanimously voted to authorize its flagship university in Austin to arrange for a private group to construct and manage a new $338 million on-campus basketball arena.
The California-based Oak View Group will build the 10,000-seat venue and then convey it back to the university, school officials said. In return, the group will manage the venue, sell its naming rights and collect revenue from concerts and other events. Revenue from managing the stadium will allow the company to recoup its cost, officials said.
I guess the QB meeting didn’t go as planned for Rising. Hope he sticks it out
In some ways this makes sense to me. I remember reading a few weeks ago (a couple of months maybe), that Rising was somewhat displeased with his situation. Casey Thompson was the Scout team QB so he got all the reps against Texas' 1st team defense and many felt he was probably better prepared to actually play if needed. Maybe part of the reason?
My friend who knows about this stuff told me that this would be the case, I’ve been expecting this. Don’t be surprised if you see Overshown next.
Yeah that's a terrific deal for UT.
Especially since they’re going to have to ask for more money for actual school renovations.
