New Senate session sends 270 Trump nominees back to the White House including 70 judicial nominees
Senate throws hundreds of Trump nominees into limboSo halfway through his first term Mr. Trump has only succeeded in staffing 59.6% of the positions a normal Administration staffs.
Senators sent back more than 270 nominations from the previous session on Thursday, which marked the official start of the 116th Congress.
The list of nominations bounced back to the White House was printed in the Congressional Record, published Friday afternoon.
In addition to the more than 270 nominations, the Senate also returned scores of foreign service nominees who were not listed individually.
The setback will force President Trump to decide if he will renominate each of the individuals and start the Senate confirmation process over again.
Trump and administration officials have repeatedly lamented the pace of confirmations on Capitol Hill.
Of 707 key positions that require Senate confirmation, Trump has gotten 434 confirmed,

Evangelicals: God Sent Trump to be King
the far right have been pushing a meme for several years now that
Donald Trump, conman and egomaniac, has been sent by God
to be “a vessel for the purposes of the faithful” in the role of King of the United States of America.
Unbeknownst to people with even a tenuous grip on reality, prior to the midterms a thousand theaters showed
“The Trump Prophecy,” a film about a firefighter who,
in a blinding orgiastic epiphany,
picks up a Bible and turns to Isaiah 45,
“which describes the anointment of King Cyrus by God.”
Get it, Isaiah “45” — Trump “45”?
the 45th president is meant to be an Isaiah 45 Cyrus [who will] restore … us from cultural collapse.
the story of Cyrus is of a nonbeliever
who becomes the first emperor of Babylon ... “Babble-on”
The Christian nationalist movement today is authoritarian, paranoid and patriarchal at its core.
They aren’t fighting a culture war.
They’re making a direct attack on democracy itself.
Trump has been egging them on, goading their preachers for becoming too “soft” — as he openly muses about becoming “President for life”.

I thought the main lesson of GOT was that walls don't work.
Pelosi’s popularity surges in polls and she now tops Trump for first time during his presidency
President Donald Trump is now less popular than new Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA),
a Gallup poll which found that Pelosi has a favorable rating of 38% and an unfavorable rating of 48%, a gap of 10 points.
Trump has a favorable rating is 40% compared to an unfavorable rating of 58%, a gap of 18 points.
Trump is more disliked than Pelosi,”
Pelosi’s popularity has surged since the November midterms and is now the highest it’s been in a decade.

America has grabbed Trash by the pussy
The Rot Runs So Deep
It seems conceivable, though highly unlikely, that there’s an innocent explanation for
the National Parks Service decision to keep a small site tied to President Trump’s hotel open
while everything else is closed or unstaffed.
Assuming it is what it looks like,
another example of the federal government being harnessed to the personal finances of the President,
it will be just a more minor example of what we’ll learn far more about in the years to come.
There is so little transparency in this administration,
so much corruption that has become commonplace,
that I don’t think we can really even imagine just how deep it all runs.
there’s every reason to believe that
the whole country’s foreign policy is being harnessed to the President’s personal financial interests as well.

Dems Summon DHS Secretary Nielsen to Testify About Her ‘Outright Lies’
Homeland Security Committee Chairman Bennie Johnson (D-MS) wrote Nielsen a letter, saying:
"The Committee’s first hearing will focus on critical border security matters,
to include the border wall,
metering of individuals seeking asylum at ports of entry, and
the treatment of children in U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) custody. As such, I request your participation.”
Thompson was also critical of a presentation Nielsen gave to Congress on Friday defending the Trump administration’s immigration and border policies.
“Your border security presentation submitted to Congress today is yet another example of the misinformation and outright lies
the Trump Administration has used to make the case for the President’s boondoggle border wall,
defend the government shutdown, and
distract the American people from a border policy so flawed that children have died in Department of Homeland Security custody.

3 straight posts?
Be a Man. Make a statement. Make a stand. Or do you not have it in your genes?
Boutons does exactly two things, spam and profane word salads.
Kruger Effect Personified
He was born into privilege, had dumb luck and friends in low places. Otherwise, he’s pretty much an imbecile in everything, only he doesn’t know he’s an imbecile.
what happens when a person isn’t balanced in this way, when a person can’t (or won’t) admit they don’t have all the answers?
When they don’t ever humble themselves,
correct mistakes,
apologize, or
confess wrongdoings — even when everyone around them can see it?
What happens when a person is both overconfident and incompetent at the same time?
Moreover, what happens when that person is also driven by
a toxic mix of rage and narcissism,
has a fragile ego, and
lacks empathy and remorse?
This is a very dangerous combination of traits, and
it typically yields our society a dangerous psychopath.
rings very true of Trump.
He overstimates his abilities.
All the time.
He has absolutely no idea what he’s doing with regard to politics.
But he claims
“I alone can fix it,” and,
“nobody knows more about (insert topic here) than Donald Trump.”
he’s pretty much your garden variety imbecile in everything ranging from the most ordinary social graces to the highest expectations of political leaders.
Personally, I also think he shows all the classic signs of narcissism, and he publicly exhibits emotionally and verbally abusive tendencies,
What does this say about his supporters?
people who identify politically as Democrats tend to be more educated than those who identify politically as Republicans,
potentially making the latter more vulnerable to the Dunning-Kruger effect.
Democrats now are the party of college graduates, especially those with post-graduate work,
whereas Republicans now have a much stronger influence among those whose highest level of education is a high school degree or less.
many Trump supporters to this day are still easily tricked, whenever Trump speaks, into believing statements that are proven lies.
54 percent of Republican primary voters believed the lie that President Barack Obama was a Muslim, and
a 2016 experiment found that 45 percent of Republicans believed that the Affordable Care Act included “death panels.”
It also follows that if Trump supporters are experiencing the Dunning-Kruger effect,
(meaning they are ignorant of the facts,
but are overconfident that they are not ignorant of the facts)
they may also be far less likely than other people to take the time and fact-check, from credible or non-biased sources, any of the erroneous claims made by Trump or anyone in his administration.
