Where does he line up?
Where does he line up?
Dang it.
I really like this kid.
Honestly that'd be a great destination for Shane at this point
He should have been fired after losing to the second scrub school.
He probably should have been fired after last year.

Above my pay grade, sir.
He can play, but he has tweener size. Too short for 4i, too light for NT. I assume Yancy will beef up him to play nose. That’s his current position at Rice.
He should have gone to Tech when he had the chance
Wasn't Texas one of the finalists for Richmond back when he committed to Tennessee? I'm pretty sure Texas was a player in his recruitment.
So, with the new transfer portal and the graduate transfer trends, it appears now that signing a player to your team does not end the "recruiting" process. It seems now that coaches have to CONTINUALLY recruit their own kids to keep them happy and on the team. With the sunk costs of time and effort invested in the initial recruitment and then the coaching up of these kids to the Texas system, it seems that working to keep our kids out of the portal would be the low hanging fruit that the staff needs to make sure they don't neglect (not saying that they are). I hope they are working to keep a talent like Cam Rising on the team as he already has one year in the system. Sometimes it seems too easy to "say goodbye" and give up on someone who wants to transfer and focus on the new shiny (and unproven) toy coming out of high school who has not even been coached up yet by the staff. There are so many examples of late bloomers who have contributed immensely over the years. The player may be an on the field contributor for just one year, but I'm sure all of us have a favorite that falls in that category. I've never been in the coaching ranks, but I don't know how these guys have any time to spend with their actual families...
The thing about transfers is that they offer the opportunity to get a quick fix at a need position without being subject to the 25 man recruiting limit. Texas does not get 10 wins last year without Watson and Big Calvin Anderson. They were the difference in a 7 win season and a 10 win season.
I'm hoping we get a similar contribution this year especially at the RB and Oline positions again.
I think it's changed the game for the better, now we don't have to worry about how are we going to fill the gap player X is leaving, we can find someone already developed and ready to step into a needed position.
2021 QB Dematrius Davis of Galena Park North Shore has been offered by LSU.

I double-checked and didn't see Richmond as having an offer in the 2015 class.
I went back and looked as well and saw no offer. I did find an article from December 2014, where Richmond stated he would visit Texas prior to NSD in 2015 and that Texas, Alabama and Ole Miss was recruiting him the hardest. I don't think the visit ever happened, but the late visit (or talk thereof) is probably the reason why I thought Texas was a player.
