The New Yorker comes out every two weeks and specializes in cultural pieces more than more immediate happenings. Has some good opinion and commentary but no way you keep up with this as a primary. No way. The Federalist is conservative without any information on how it is funded. Has come out with some interesting stuff but a lot of its news has been trashed as just wrong. Its opinions are more interesting. The epoch times was created in response to the lack of good news for people in China. so... yeah.

because you spend more time here discussing media coverage of stories than the stories themselves.

for instance, whine about cnn/msnbc coverage and yet thats supposedly where you go to get a good amount of your news. in fact, they're the first 2 sources you listed. so naturally the solution would be to cut those out of your cycle. many here, even the liberal posters, would agree that cnn and msnbc are not among the best news sources. though they have an online component, they are still cable organizations that rely on clicks/views/ratings more than good substance
