How so? That's what they prefer... I'd prefer that too tbh
That's because you're so married to your athlete worship you'll agree to ANYTHING that would give you an extra five minutes to lick Kawhi's ass clean
In the real world, the only thing that wins the trade for Tor is a ring. That's definitely a possibility so we'll just have to see what happens this summer

Bad news for Raptors fans this guy really loves California. I think his Raptors tenure is 1 and done unless they win the championship.

California is probably the best place to live if your super rich. The state has everything. Good weather, beautiful beaches, women, culture, etc. You can't really blame him for wanting to leave cold as toronto.

That and his family and most loyal fan base live there. Can't blame him at all for wanting to be in Cali. I just blame him for ruining his trade value and not being more professional with his departure. Overall, what is done is done and it is time to move on. Wish him the best, tbh. In his heart I am sure he misses a lot about the Spurs.

Well, looks like Spurs came out like bandits on that trade with Toronto.

Next year Spurs have DeRozan, Poetl, and a 1st round pick. Next year Raptors have... nobody.

In Toronto's defense I think they are OK with this as a possibility. I think they felt the team as constructed was never going to win a le, and was basically stuck in limbo. If he leaves- rebuild without DDR's contract.

    ROFL, no

Spurs get an albatross of a contract with a choker in DeRozan.

Raps will have cap space and the continued growth of Siakim. Spurs got fleeced.

"continued growth of siakam" was there regardless of the trade

raptors have cap space in exchange for derozan/poeltl and a first round pick. hard to argue you're rebuilding if you just gave away a first round pick. you really think the raptors are going to be able to rebuild through free agency?

    2. If kawhi leaves this team proved they can still compete, they're 13-3 without him. We'll have cap space and we will go into a rebuild.

Lol cap space. Since people have been flocking to TOR for years! I’m sure players will love seeing what they did to DeRozan and then seeing them lose Kawhi. Will be a beacon for free agents.

At least they have a first round pick to help them rebuild......oh wait.

They were an East leader and definite playoff team with DeRozan and Kawhi. Without them? They may struggle for years to make the playoffs.

Outside of Pascal, their youth is rather uninspiring. Van Fleet? Meh. Jonas? He’s medicore. McCaw? Nothing special. OG? Has not busted out like many of us had hoped.

Kyle Lowry is worse than Demar and has a worse contract too.

If they lose Kawhi, it’s a big setback. Now, if their cap space leads to landing good free agents and they stay a playoff team; cool, it’s much better. But that seems very unlikely.

What’s more likely is they go the BKY route and use their space to take on bad contracts so they can get picks back and do a rebuild.

There is no guarantee they will be a playoff team for a while if that all goes down.

They're in the East. They'll be fine.

This thread wouldn't bounce to the top NEARLY as much if there weren't a group of posters who insist that people should be 'over this'. The argument alone does most of the work in keeping this thread at the top. The reality is that this really won't calm down until Kawhi makes his decision next summer. Strap yourselves in for an extended run of posts in this thread.

    a) If you don't like seeing this thread at the top, stop putting it there. The mods have spoken by NOT moving it downstairs, so stop telling THEM what to do.
    b) Stop telling us what to do, MFers.
My point is, he's not a Spur anymore and so his current exploits should be in a thread downstairs where the other non-Spur birds are fawned over.

    Plus, that quitter.

You'll likely have to do it without Lowry, and possible Green, too. Lowry still seems really pissed at the trade, and DG is on a bargain deal. With the way he's playing, he'll likely command more on the open market, and he'll be 32 when the FA market opens in July.

So glad we don’t have this f4g on the roster anymore. Watching his whiny ass get outplayed by the Rockettes without 2 of their 3 best players and he still can’t play defense. And traveling all over the place too what a joke. And to think this is the one game he plays in like 4 games

would’ve liked for the spurs to pick up faried.

    21 points (8 of 11), 14 rebounds, 2 blocks tonight.
