The USMCA will provide additional revenue indirectly through trade deficits with Mexico. If Trump can drop the deficit by 25-30 billion with trade deals then you will have sufficient funding. Companies will also introduce additional manufacturing/farming in the United States thus creating more jobs and additional funds for the treasury. Congress theoretically could write a bill allocating those funds from new jobs into funds for the wall. Additionally the money saved from the new USMCA as opposed to the ty NAFTA deal can't be ignored.
Doesn't more funds allocated from the Treasury mean we'd be paying for it, silly man?

I'm not seeing any dog whistles there, but you are en led to your opinion. Mexico will in fact help pay for the wall through the renegotiation of NAFTA. Posters like Spurminator don't really care about the plight of those affected by the crisis at the border including my friend, but that doesn't make it any less real. Real problems, real solutions. Only iden y politics and posters like Spurminator, seething with vitriol, stand in the way of progress. I fail to see what Obama has to do with anything, but he had some interesting things to say about illegal aliens when he was a Senator.
It's a total dog whistle. He generalized the migrant class as "not the best people, people with a lot of problems," and connects this clause with the next by saying, "they're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists," ispo facto: The migrant class in general are drug dealers and rapists. Then he goes on to say, "Well, some of them are good people," defining them as the outlier in an overwhelming majority of drug dealers, murderers, and rapists.

Here's how a reasonable person would frame the argument: "While I recognize that the majority of migrants coming through our southern border are doing so to escape dire situations in their homelands and are motivated by wanting to provide better for themselves and their families, the cruel fact of the matter is that some coming along with them are affiliated with criminal elements like drug cartels and street gangs. I'd like to see tighter border security to help combat the influx of the latter, though perhaps new barriers, increased personnel, and adaptation of modern technology." Then he takes a question about what to do about the people who want to come here for a better life, and maybe proposes some reform in that area.

But no. Trump backed his immigration stance with a demagogic at ude and appeal-to-emotion rhetoric that totally disregarded the facts, fully knowing this rhetorical tactic would stir up passions in his base and help him get elected. I brought up Obama because he was hard on illegal immigration, but since he didn't sell it through demonizing an entire class of people, no one really cared that he was deporting immigrants like it was going out of style. You can argue from a pragmatic position and say that you don't care how Trump sells it as long as it gets built and is effective, but there's no doubting he stoked some very ugly sentiment in certain demographics.

Personally, I don't think this is an issue worthy of so much attention, as evidence by the statistics, and would rather see "wall money" put toward more pressing issues.

I don't understand how balancing the trade deficit with Mexico is going to pay for anything. People have the false impression that running a trade deficit with another country means you're somehow "losing" to that country. That's not how it works. A trade deficit simply means we're buying from them more than they're buying from us, and there's no "loss" since we're getting the goods and services we bought.

Ex. if you and I were buying vintage videogames from each other, and you bought 3000.00 worth of games from me, while I bought 1000.00 worth of games from you, you're running a deficit, but you're not losing anything since you got the games. Given the US's massive consumer market, it'd be tough to run a even trade or a surplus with any country we trade with.

It's incredible how the average American doesn't understand how they work. Yet another canard Lord Trump used to rile up his base. "We're getting killed on trade!" No we're not . Unless China is taking our money and not rendering the goods and services, we're getting what we pay for.

Was Trump "dog whistling" when he offered 1.8 million "Dreamers" a path to citizenship in exchange for a border wall?

You're asking Trump to talk like Obama, but Trump is not a greasy politician. He's a stone faced businessman who doesn't sugar coat anything. ("political correctness")

If you are cool with agents at the border being exposed to cartels and coyotes without proper barriers that is certainly your prerogative. I myself want only the finest protection for our heroes enforcing the border, and think it's an issue worthy of attention.

The only people selling emotion and playing iden y politics are those on the Left who have been on attack since November of 2016.

Looking at Mexico and the USMCA you can simply point to the money saved with the NAFTA overhaul without getting into the muck and mire of the minutiae.

These were all campaign promises that are being fulfilled.

Federal prosecutors violated victims' rights while negotiating light sentence for Jeffrey Epstein: judge

Federal prosecutors, including President Trump's Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta,

    violated the law

by negotiating a light sentence for multi-millionaire pervert Jeffrey Epstein while keeping his victims in the dark, a judge ruled Thursday.

The 33-page decision by District Judge Kenneth Marra represented a

scathing rebuke of Acosta’s handling of the Epstein investigation

while serving as U.S. Attorney in Miami.

“Epstein used paid employees to find and bring minor girls to him. Epstein worked in concert with others to obtain minors not only for his own sexual gratification, but also for the sexual gratification of others,” Marra wrote.

Nevertheless, Epstein’s team of high-powered lawyers closely collaborated with Acosta and his prosecutors on a 2008 deal that

resulted in the depraved hedge-funder serving a 13-month sentence in Palm Beach County Jail.

Epstein’s victims, many of whom were underage when they were abused, were given no notice of the deal.

A judge wrote that those efforts — which were laid bare in emails between Epstein’s attorneys and Acosta’s office — represented a violation of the Crime Victims’ Rights Act.

“When the Government gives information to victims, it cannot be misleading.

While the Government spent untold hours negotiating the terms and implications of the (non-prosecution agreement) with Epstein’s attorneys, scant information was shared with victims.

Instead, the victims were told to be ‘patient’ while the investigation proceeded,” Marra wrote.

Yes he is. The guy lies about everything, misrepresenting facts, exaggerating facts, inventing "facts." The DACA deal wasn't amnesty. Just a 3 year extension. Whoopty- in-do.

How many Border patrol agents have been killed by cartels, MS-13, etc? Here we go. 6 have been murdered from 2003-2017:

    https://www.cato.org/blog/border-pat...aths-line-duty

And methinks since so much comes through via ports of entry, some of your border patrol heroes are being paid off. Maybe put a billion into a creating a better internal affairs department that keeps watch on agents?

Oh, no argument the left appeals to emotion just as much by framing everything in the context of race and power dynamics. I harp on their tactics constantly, and it's why Trump was appealing. A former lifelong Democrat in the Rust Belt isn't going to give a about whether or not there needs to be a third gender. Democrats need to get back to their working class roots.
