Well don't implement a socialized system if you don't want to pay for the poor choices of others.
Did the humans who lived in that "warmer yesterday" hundreds of thousands of years ago have anything resembling the society we have today? Did they suffer billions of dollars worth of damage to their yurts when climate-change influenced natural disasters increased in frequency? Did they have trillion dollar economies existing on coastlines? Or trillion dollar economies that are projected to become uninhabitable due to pollution?
Well don't implement a socialized system if you don't want to pay for the poor choices of others.
what caused the interglacial in the past?
what's causing it now, if it is that?
Is it your contention, DarrinS, that industrial civilization has zero impact on global climate?
so what is it you're trying to say?
Saltyhole23![]()
Darrin comparing prehistoric human societies to modern ones. See, Darrin, the human population then was probably less than 20 million, and human tribes were very migratory, so if the region they were settled in started to become uncomfortable due to a changing climate, they could simply pack up and move to another region rather freely. There weren't such things as national and global economies to crash due to environmental disaster of some sort. No one is suggesting the world is going to end, just that climate-change will place a significant strain on our modern society as designed. And again, 97% agree it's an imperative to address sooner rather than later.
Why so resistant? Afraid the burgers and SUVs are going to be taken away?
Thanks, by the way, for finally admitting industrial civilization is not different in kind than volcanos and asteroids. It does affect the climate, and in exactly the same way.
Both you and AOC need a remedial lesson in natural science

Teach us, profe!
You haven't even started yet. All hand waving, no lesson.
Are you this dumb? If a fat guy(s) start to become a significant cost, even under a private insurer, either paid for out-of-pocket or employee provided, the insurance company isn't going to raise the individual fat guy(s) premiums to the moon (knowing he can't pay). They'll marginally raise his premiums and the premiums of healthy people to off-set the costs of treating more expensive patients.
You don't even understand your so-called 97%. Lol
Not my job
What percentage of people that recognize the world is ending in 12 years have given up burgers?
To back up your own bs?
Clearly not.
So your complaint is with insurance companies not charging the correct rate.
I understand they feel it's an imperative to address it.
Do you know better than these 18 organizations? They seem to endorse controlling emissions ASAP. Why don't you agree? Are you a climate scientist? Have a peer-reviewed paper you can show me?The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) has reaffirmed the position of its Board of Directors and the leaders of 18 respected organizations, who concluded based on multiple lines of scientific evidence that global climate change caused by human activities is now underway, and it is a growing threat to society. The AAAS Board noted that “the pace of change and the evidence of harm have increased markedly over the last five years.
The time to control greenhouse gas emissions is now.”
I don't have a complaint. I was explaining to Chris that your actions don't always just affect you personally, so it might be wise to think twice before acting like a selfish pig all the time.
what leads you to conclude it has any effect at all?
drunk Darrin tried to make JFK a Republican with a YouTube someone sent him and Qhris tried to compare himself to Galileo.
This is really all one needs to know about these two.
and since you concede that it does have an effect, what effect does it have?
He's also an expert climate scientist![]()
