Trump wrote out his reasons for firing Comey - and it was revealed (not in the book - but in one of McCabes's TV interviews this past week) - that one of the reasons Trump stated for firing Comey was -

the phony "retainer arrangement" that Weisselberg set up with trumps blessing - consisted of several 35k pymts - and trump was explaining - I mean "president Trump was explaining - from the oval office" that (2) checks would be there any day now...

On Feb 14th - the (1) check for 70k arrived and is the one being shown here.
