He is who he seemed to be from afar back when he was in Toronto, which is LeBron lost zero minutes of sleep worrying about a Derozan led Raptors team AND why the Raptors GM had no problem trading his behind.

Trade Derozan in the summer while he still has value, if there's any left.

He is clearly not the hero of this team, DWhite is. I love DeRozan and I’ll advocate for him all day, but he can’t be the hero late in the game. Let White distribute in crunch time and if DeRozan trips over a made shot, so be it.

I dont mind him having the ball late in games but he needs to play in control like he does the rest of the game. So many times he'll be having a great game, then in the end he tries to "take over" and forces so much . He takes his closer label too seriously.

This. He takes out of control forced shots. It doesnt help that his shots are also off balanced because he's trying to make something happen. The ball needs to be in whites hands.

Pop wants Demar to learn how to close the game just like how he trained Kawhi. We won't go far if he can't close the game like an elite player. This is a painful way of learning and it might cost us games but if Demar gets it, then we have a chance to go far during the post season.
are you kidding me? He's 29 years old, been in this league that many years. He is who he is at this point and you can't change him from a choker to closer.

Too late, besides, (as you noted above) Pop will keep him and "fix" him in year 2.

We needed to trade him before the deadline.

I like Demar, easy to rally behind especially after replacing the void of personality in Kawhi.

But it’s clear that he presses in pressure situations and loses control, like trying to go play for play with MVP candidates. Not to mention the Spurs have been better with him on the bench (slight net negative rating with him on floor) but that could also be based on the dynamite bench lineups.

It’s not happening given marketability and how cold of a move it would be perceived as, but what could realistically be expected if they moved on from him after the season? And what kind of money does he realistically expect when his contract is up?

This is on Pop! DD10 isn't a PG, but White is. White needs to be handling the ball, especially in crunch time. Yeah, DD10 is an all-star and all, but he's also proven over and over that he has no business with handling the ball when the game is tight. Pop needs to trust White to do his job...

It's not cold at all. The Spurs need to get better and if they can get better by moving him, they should move him. He's getting paid handsomely right now but he's going to lose money on his next contract every year he stays in the Western Conference. Dude is a hot mess handling the ball at the end of games.
