good post, can't really argue with any of that
Congrats to my boys! We get back to the Eastern Conference Finals!!
And at the same time as I congradulate them, I also have to give them the big![]()
They made this series way more difficult than it ever should have been. And my already thinning hair took one of a beating this last week as i kept finding myself pulling on it!
Mad props to the Cavs. The played with HEART. They didn't listen to fans of the NBA or media people after geting killed in the first 2 games. They didn't lay down and collapse like I thought they would after game 2. They were constantly told that they couldn't compete. They proved that wrong.
Lebron---I was a Witness. It's awesome watching this kid grow. So young and yet so poised. So skilled and yet still humbled. Watch out NBA here comes LBJ.
The Cavs played inspired basketball. They played with a confidence that they shouldn't have had. I was very impressed with their Defense. Very underated. They trly made us change they way we played them. They did a wonderful job on our perimeter play. In the first 2 games, we were dropping 3's left and right. But to their credit, they made adjustments and made us slow it down.
The Cavs have arrived. We will see them in the playoffs for years to come. Hopefully they continue to add pieces aronf Lebron.
Tayshaun Prince----I'd like to shake your hand. Every game in this series you showed up. IMO you are the MVP of this series. Rebounding, Shooting, Scoring, Defending. In nearly every facet, he was the best for us every game.
Antonio Mcdyess was also huge for us. He's looking so good out there. Lindsay, Rip, Billups, Sheed (other than the GuaranSheed!!!) Ben, Delk. You all make me proud. Backs to the wall, and you play your best! IF IT AIN'T ROUGH IT AINT RIGHT I admit I've been nervous all week. I believed but was scared that the unthinkable would happen.
Flip (and staff)---Great job.
I haven't commented on these boards my thoughts about Flips performance in this series. Everyone nationally and locally have been tin all over him since game 4. I thought it was wrong. I thought it was ignorant. I thought it was silly. I blamed the efforts and desire of the players. I blamed the players for not playing Piston basketball.
That doesn't mean I didn't question or find fault in Flip's decisions. There were many things that could have been done diffrently. But at the end of the day, it's the 'best starting 5' that are responsible for geting it done. Not the coach.
If people were blaming Flip us for losing 3 in a row, does that mean that they will now praise for being the reason for closing out the series??????
Didn't think so.
The Pistons are, and will be, all about the effort that the players put out.
HCA is huge. Having the ability to finish this at home was tremendous. And now that we've gone 7 and are a little tired we have the luxury of staying home for the next 2 games vs. Miami.
I look forward to playing Miami........errrr I mean I look forward to beating the ever living out of those sonsof es. I hate no team as much as I hate Miami. But to there credit, they are a good team. They will be tough to overcome.
This will be a completely different series than the one we just 'witnessed'. I look for the scoring to be up. I look for the 3ball to falling quickly and often by the Pistons. Miami does not rotate well enough to be a good perimeter defending team. Chauncey and Sheed should have plenty of oportunities to go deep.
I look for questionable officiating. Shaq is just plain for refs to call. Some games you'll find him in foul trouble early, and in others you'll see Sheed and Ben on the bench with the same ills.
I look for the offense to switch from Tayshaun and Dice to Chauncey and Rip.
As dominant as Shaq is, and as dynamic as Wade plays, the 2 players that worry me the most is Walker and Zo.
Walker, when confident and playing within his abilities is a tough player. He can shoot from outside, drive to the hole, tends to be a good rebounder and is not afraid to get physical. I't usually his head that hurts him, not his game.
Zo brings the energy. He can change the flow of the game. His presence and playing time can very well determine how easy or difficult this series is.
IMO this years squad is not as good as last years. But they are playing some pretty good ball. J-Will will be a little tougher to play than Damon Jones was last year. Eddie Jones may be gone, but Posey can defend a little bit better.
I'm confident. But this should still go 6 or 7. Hopefully Shaq and Ben don't get too many shooting fouls. No one wants to see them at the line all night just to see them miss.
Bring on them South Beach bums. Bring it to Detroit.
Time to bust some ass.
GO PISTONS GO
I'm praising the Pistons players. I'm not giving Flip any credit for this series...I wasn't impressed. If people were blaming Flip us for losing 3 in a row, does that mean that they will now praise for being the reason for closing out the series??????
wow i bet that took up most of your day lol good post tho i agree with most of it
I was critical of Flip after the first 6 games. But he made a good adjustment in this game. In the 2nd half he was sending traps to Lebron before he could get in a position to make a play. Before they just kept sending the double when he was attacking the paint. Problem with that is Lebron is too good a passer. Taking away Lebron passing (2 assists in game 7) shut their offense down.
Congratulations, Pistons fans. I hope we can do the same....
Of course you will!![]()
Thanks
Duncan and Ginoboli are bringing their A game, Finley's on a mission, Parker's due for a good game and all of that spells trouble for the Mavs.
Good Luck tomorrow night, we'll be pullin' for ya!
yeah..go spurs!..we'll settle it in the finals
heat in 6...hahaha you were probaly thinking the same about denver...look at them now
nah, im being realistic
Pistons barely beat a team with one superstar and scrubs, how will they manage two superstars and a bunch of role players who are finally stepping up?
we all know that the Heat would have been in the Finals last year if Wade didnt get injured. They will want revenge and they will get past the Pistons this season
this seasons playoff Pistons have been very average compared to last seasons........
With great lock down defence and HCA they will run them into the ground.
If there is one team that I want the to sit on their asses and watch for almost week, see the Pistons struggle, and get over confident, it is the Miami Heat. Fatione Walker and Jason Williams are going to kill their team in this series with untimely shots and stupid turnovers. I hope this series proves for once and for all, that the Heat shouldn't have made all of those trades after last season.
It will.
I hope so. I hate the heat...and their fans? (not all of them, of course) They're just plain irritating.
I agree. I thought all the hype over the summer was ridiculous. It will.
I hate how ppl keep saying that the Heat would've won if they weren't injured, for the simple fact that the officiating in that series was god awful. I may not like the refs, but that reffing was...wow. The entire city was ing over that one....
But that's not the point tho. That just came to mind. Why I REALLY hate it is because Tayshaun was playing on an injured ankle and we all know LB wanted to run Tay to the ground. Tayshaun pretty much had no back up. Heat weren't healthy but neither were we, so quit the ing.
Much as I like Wade's game, let's note that his injury last year was entirely self-inflicted. He twisted his own ribcage into a pretzel trying to bust some flashy, but unneccessary move. No more sympathy for that than if he just ran his head into the basket support a few times . Fall down seven times, get up eight, it's your own damn fault you're laying on the floor so much.
Fall down 7 times.............eh' I don't really care if he gets back up or not.
I want to shut them es down!![]()
Pistons are due for a little compe ion in this playoffs. Hope Heat will finally give them some fight.
and yes, I watched the Cavs series. That was not compe ion. That was the pistons under flip ing up
