WTF? ISIS took responsibility? I thought they were dead? Trump said so.
Media always validates any obscure ISIS claim. They need a boogeyman.

Moving goal posts? You asserted that our policy was to promote Christianity. I responded that your understanding of our State policy was wrong. So now you've shifted the emphasis of your initial argument.

Typical intellectual dishonesty on your part.

BTW even your other argument is wrong. The U.S. allows the free expression of Islamic worship on it's soil. Our Cons ution is not so keen, however, on allowing Sharia Law to take precedence over it - and so it must place limits on certain aspects of their societal laws. There is a difference between the two notions but you're too obstinate to acknowledge what that difference is.
No, you're very purposefully excluding Muslim from "religious expression".

It's as disingenuously simple as that.

No it's because of the unwillingness of people like yourself to see the very obvious political posturing taking place here, and how your party leaders have unanimously chosen to defend the wrong team by failing to denounce them.

Democrats understand that denouncing the evils of radical Islam creates political clout for them. It justifies a tougher policy stance on immigration. It justifies more rigorous vetting practices for ensuring our national security. These are policies that the Democrats don't want to endorse.

So after an event where the radical Islamic evil is obvious to even a 5 year old, the semantics and coordinated word choice being used by your party icons is cringe worthy. It softens the blow so that the perpetrators aren't being outright condemned (or more generally - radical Islamic ideology) and so that the targets of their persecution (Christians) aren't granted the protections that such persistent persecution would warrant. It's a strategy that deliberately avoids waking up our own nation's Christian base because they know that such knowledge would end up rallying further support for the aforementioned policies that they vehemently oppose. Democrats have already heavily tipped their hat towards promoting the idea that muslims in this country are another victim class. "Heavens forbid" that Democrats simultaneously acknowledge that Christians world-wide are being persecuted for their faith in Jesus Christ, and for their belief in Biblical principles.
    Lol "wrong team".

What an utter piece of post from top to bottom.

Lol you are stupid if you think for a second that your deflections will ever cons ute an argument that is properly constructed.

I don’t have to lobby for the expression of Islamic faith. I don’t have to like it. I don’t even have to legitimize any of their doctrinal ideology. But Muslims can practice their religion here in the USA. They are afforded the same Cons utional freedoms that all other Citizens are granted.

The caveat being that application of certain aspects of Sharia Law are uncons utional and therefore in direct conflict with application of Federal jurisprudence (and most State, County and Municipal Law). For example, under the Cons ution people are guaranteed due process be it for civil or criminal court (the only exceptions being cases that are tried under Military Tribunals). They have a right to face their accuser. They have a right to defend themselves. They have a right to an attorney. Strict adherence to Sharia Law, however, deprives people of these basic rights and therefore the U.S. Cons ution rightfully takes precedence.

The point I was making was that I need not talk about Islam to point out that your assertion that the U.S. State Department’s foreign policy was to lobby for the freedom of religious expression ONLY for Christians. After I pointed out your error and called you out for your latent ignorance on the matter you shifted the premise of your argument with a deflection tactic.

In the 14 years I’ve been on this site you’ve never once admitted to a mistake. So I don’t expect the trend to change.

I'm not responding to all of your long winded garbage.

The only assertion I was making here is that you think protecting religious freedom should not apply to Muslims. That you're a hypocritical bigot.

But now you're backpedaling off of that. Sort of.

Where’s the outrage about the historical persecution of Muslim Uighurs by the Chinese? (they persecute Christians too, btw)

This idea that the rest of the world affords the same religious or even political protections that the US affords it’s citizens is extremely naive, and really ignorant (especially if we’re talking historically).

What’s even worse is that specifically a Christian would bring up the historical implications of society in general moving to secularism as a problem, despite the well do ented abuses of authority and power when the Church *was* in control.

You know why the world moved to secularism? Because we learned our lesson. Going all the way back to The Crusades, to burning ‘witches’, etc. The same people that now about the lack of rights for women on the caliphate, seem to forget that the roles for women in their own religion nowadays (good luck seeing a female Pope until Jesus enlightens them again).

The world simply understood that religion is a personal choice. As such, there’s no role in government for it, other than to try to protect their citizens to practice it (and YMMV on that depending on the country).

At the end of the day, a cursory look at the world today and historically shows that theocracies are much, much worse than secular democracies. It’s not even close.

I didn't say you said it as an argument. I'm saying it's very clearly implied that the only religious freedom you want to protect is Christianity.

The Poisonous Politics Behind the Right’s ‘Easter Worshippers’ Smear Campaign

Religious Right leaders and right-wing media operations moved quickly to exploit the devastating Easter Sunday bombings in Sri Lanka

to advance a political message they hope will mobilize a high turnout among conservative white evangelical voters in 2020.

It’s the same dishonest claim that Religious Right leaders hammered hard in 2016 in their efforts to defeat Hillary Clinton and elect Donald Trump:

Democrats are enemies of faith, religious freedom and Christianity itself.

Obama and Clinton and some other Democrats described the church-goers as “Easter worshippers” in their tweets,

but did not use the word “Christians.”

    right-wing activists from alleging that

the Democrats’ wording is evidence of anti-Christian bigotry and

a refusal to recognize that the bombings targeted Christians.

the right-wing outrage was highly selective and purely partisan.

    Tweets of sympathy from

    President Donald Trump,
    House GOP Leader
    Kevin McCarthy,
    Secretary of State
    Mike Pompeo, and
U.S. Ambassador for International Religious Freedom
    Sam Brownbacka Religious Right favorite

also did not include the word “Christian.”

    http://www.rightwingwatch.org/post/t...mear-campaign/

And so-called Christians, who fellate Trash as godly, as sent by their God, suck down the Christian propaganda and lies as Bible truth

Obviously, our boy Phenom is an easy mark for propaganda.

    true.

but it is also trivially true to point out that it was also founded on the general lack of conventional piety, or indeed of any prevalent, generally shared religion.

Tomorrow the NFL Draft, right now this very second the NBA playoffs. Then we have all that music and things to occupy our minds.

What do they do over there?

No USC vs UCLA, Texas vs Oklahoma, Michigan vs Ohio State, no anything to get into it.

Now add the Quran which is beyond re ed and stupid. Nothing there but PUNISH, KILL, FIRE, PUNISH, KILL, FIRE.

No wonder we see so much stupid bull coming out of Islam/Middle East.

The sacred Cons ution has been abused and rigged by oligarchy, so that a rigged economy, a captured govt, and the Cons ution are untouchable.
