Even in the worst case scenario You still don't trade him for that deal(you trade him only for a bigtime future asset like Zion), you keep him for his final year(spurs had power to make him play out the season), try your best to keep him and at the end if he's out he's out, you go rebuild... No need to over smart things, pop should be ashamed and put down his keys!!!
hold onto him and tank...seriously dunno why they extended lma, extended pau, mills... kept enrique and ginoboli last year for no reason...

if kawhi had a problem with roster and players, he shouldve ask pop when he sign that max extension...seriously why did they gave enrique 45/3 ...i think that was the last straw, pop continue to hand out stupid money to vets at the expense of younger developed players around kawhi moving forward...

The Raptors success in the playoffs against very flawed teams does not change ANYTHING regarding the underhanded dealings of KL, his group, Uncle Fester (I mean Uncle Dennis) and Impact Sports. The National and local media simply is not interested in what actually happened - I just wish someone in the media would actually challenge KL with real questions on why he passed on playing in the 2018 AND 2017 playoffs for the Spurs. He was cleared to play for months and just walked away from the team last year.

He was actually injured for a period of time in 2017 with the ankle, so I think I could buy that, but the 9 game 2018 season was a disgusting display by the Nephew.

He will have to be on the podium at the press conferences during the Finals. It would be nice to a straight answer out of that guy for once. Probably won't happen, the media will drink the alternative universe Kool-Aid peddled by the "group".
Nah, the media don't care about what happened in 2018 with the Spurs. The media would rather asking questions to get a better sensing where he will be headed (Clipper or Lakers or remain in Toronto).

If anything, I hope Kawhi's trip to the finals in his first season in the East will show all the national pundits -- even if they don't admit it publicly -- that that LeBron's consecutive finals streak coming out of the East was mostly a cake walk!

GTFO once and for all with the MJ comparisons.

The fact that Kawhi’s sister called the guy that said “they know he ain’t going to be there next year” a hater is evidence that Kawhi has already let his family know he’s going to stay in Toronto and continue being a Raptor.

or maybe they just don’t wanna make it seem like his mind is already made up ?

Hopefully Kawhi realizes what a cakewalk the east is and stays there. Could be the only silver lining here.
Toronto is the new Cleveland/Miami or the new Lebron of the East. I wouldn’t be surprised if some ringchasers start heading there next year and create another monster team. Kawhi would be a fool to leave Toronto for uncertain future in either team in LA and loaded West

And people thought it was going to be the other way around. The series changed once Leonard started guarding Giannis.

He might have? Not even in the same universe. Nephew was still a role player in 2014, sucked in the first two games and he didn't even really slow LeBron that much.

He's a superstar now who just destroyed the MVP.

    What a stupid tweet.

Kawhi did well offensively in that series but the Bron stopper stuff was a bit overblown

With what you know, what odds would you give TOR of keeping Kawhi?

If he wears short sleeves in their championship parade, he's staying.

Wow. There’s a big difference between what he should and what he actually would end up doing. But he has the whole nation behind him, 1st NBA finals appearance. He could really cement himself as best player with easier path to the finals, especially when ring chasers start following him over aging Durant. He’d be the new Lebron of the East tbh

The NBA loves a good storylines.

Curry going back to the city he grew up in to win a championship. Can't make this up.

So the way i see it : signing Kawhi means you have to assign someone to suck uncle's 24/7. Now you as a casual fan won't be called up for this. And this is uncle's , you never get to suck off Kawhi. Now maybe you don't care about those terms, but if you were in the teams chair, would you do it?

It's funny that spursfans piled on the lavar ball saga but hate that their team didn't suck up to their uncle/daddy

Solid life advice is never to date someone above your station. IT's too risky. The spurs just doing their version of this dating humble girls who work hard to please. Given what San Antonio is, this is par for the course.

If you look at the lists of superstars who bailed on a team vs stayed the former exceeds the latter. Given that the spurs aren't FA powerhouse the odds are that we'd be and will continue to be screwed. The fact that, during the Duncan era, we didn't need to attract superstars didn't change that.

Really, the spurs getting 2/3 superstars (or 4/5 if you include Gino and tony, i don't because its clear they were following the Duncan meal ticket) is beating the odds.

And as always remember, the spur's number one goal is to sell Season tickets to casual fans and businesses, not please your thirsty asses.

If there is a God (Greek god in Giannis' case), Load Management will lose tonight. If that piece of wins, this is a ed up world, tbh.

This is the pitch on number 2 when he was traded..

    Quits on the team
    Fakes injuries
    Won't play through pain
Only wants to play in LA
His Uncle acts like Lavar Ball..

Spurs were lucky the offer was not a Tic-Tac and a bag of chips.
