Cris Carter's agent (or former agent) is #2's current agent and he is protecting his group. That's all - there is an agenda for Carter that is obvious. Bayless is more of an actor playing a roll that generates ratings. I'm not even sure he actually likes the SAS's as much as you might think.
I know Chris Carter Is their public mouth piece because of business dealings. I just hate the fact that he isn’t being challenged smartly by Nick Wright or any of the folks covering the NBA that come on that show. This is their job to cover the league and it’s hot topics and it seems most don’t know .

Of course it’s for ratings and it’s easier to get ratings when you can evoke strong emotions but man it could lead to a better show if it was people with differing opinions that was smart enough to point out holes in the other debaters argument.

And unless things have changed, #2 is that agent's ONLY client, and is a former NFL agent now working out of his car.

This morning seems to be the beginning of NBA Finals build up. All the sports shows are running with the Kawhi-Spurs story full bore and I can see that continuing at least until Game One.

As I posted in another thread, Stephen A. Smith on First Take says "the Spurs look very bad today."

"For that stuff to be said right now, with Uncle Dennis coming out and publicly stating it the way that he did, that is not a good look for the San Antonio Spurs, there's no way around that."

Max Kellerman adds, "the San Antonio Spurs were imperfect, they made a miscalculation. . . Kawhi Leonard was hurt"

Kellerman contrasts the way Toronto handled Kawhi with "load management."

Kellerman further notes that Danny Green stuck up for Kawhi regarding "the team meeting" then Green also got shipped off to Toronto.

"The way they handled it, it seems to me, was wrong and I think Kawhi is proving that right now."

The black guy saying that Spurs players trusted team doctors who said that Nephew could play, and hence confronted Nephew which lead to the crack as Nephew was really injured.

Guys like Nick and the rest of today's media are just puppets for these players. It's there job to distort the facts and promote these guys and not destroy them as people. The network Fox Sports which Nick works for is a partner with the NBA just like ESPN is a partner of the NBA. No way are these networks going to badmouth a major product of their business partner ala the NBA. Just look at it how the NBA got ESPN not to release a damning story on Magic Johnson because of fear of what it would have done to Magic's reputation.

Oh, I some what agree with your statement but guys like Michael Wright who works for ESPN or Ramona Shelborne who have put out info on players and front office types that is revealing and scathing. Ms. Shelborne just did an article ripping Magic and Mr. Wright stated the factual evidence on some of the Kawhi drama.

I remember Michael Wright originally saying the Uncle was all at fault for causing the problems and he has a lot of dirt on Uncle Dennis. Notice how now Wright says it's 50-50 on both sides. I believe ESPN threatened Wright not to release any more dirt that makes #2 and his camp look bad. I haven't read Shelbourne's article on Magic but I wonder if it paints Magic as terrible manager because there was originally a story that was going to come about of how Magic was an abusing boss. ESPN immediately canned that story so I bet you the Shelbourne story is not as damaging as the original story on magic would have been.

The Spurs During the runs of David, Tim, Manu and Tony treated the star players like family.. Suddenly we treated Number 2 like out of nowhere right? Such bull from the talking heads..

I'd definitely advise people to go back and listen to the back 2 back podcast again

    https://backtobackpod.libsyn.com/ner...chael-c-wright

Michael C. Wright gives a lot of insider info here:

    - Uncle Dennis' demands were RIDICULOUS and UNREALISTIC and the stories that occured with him in the mix are CRAZY and UNBELIEVABLE. So nothing common, just real LaVar Ball , if not worse (like hiding from Spurs staff, walking to the ASG through Mardi Gras, etc.)

    - He says the relationship went south when Kawhi went to China and the Spurs lost connection to him. They weren't able to reach him anymore. This makes me think that that's probably the point where Uncle Dennis realized how big of a star Kawhi is and came up with the plan to get him to a bigger market

    - He says the original thigh contusion stems from March 2016 against the Heat. Kawhi missed 3 games and came back playing looking healthy. I doubt that that was a misdiagnosis that had an effect on his quad 2 years later

    - Says Spurs couldn't even find out if their rehab process worked cause they handed over the rehab process to Kawhi's team

    - Spurs went out of their way handing over the rehab process to his team and should NOT have done it in hindsight. They gave his team an inch and they took off and went a mile. It's also absolutely not common for an organization to do something like that

    - Spurs shielded Kawhi from media and Pop saying "him and his group" was due to Pop really not knowing ANYTHING about how Kawhi's rehab went. Those narratives are just being used as excuses to get out by Kawhi's camp

    - Kawhi's team kept announcing dates publicly and to the Spurs on when he will be back. The last one was the home game against NOLA which was also the day of the TEAM PICTURE. So certainly a hoax and just some bull to piss the Spurs off even further which then caused the team meeting

    - Spurs still wanted to fix the relationship but couldn't get to Kawhi

    - Even when he said he wants to be traded they still wanted to keep him

    - They asked for the world in trade talks

So all in all I can't really see anything they could've done different. Maybe not handing over the rehab process to Kawhi's team could've prevented all of this, but that's a long shot. They did everything they could do to keep him

at them using Jax as a credible source. At first they say he has an axe to grind with the Spurs but at the same time stresses that Jax is not a liar. That shows to me how silly these clowns are. They are really puppets of their ESPN bosses.

Now the "experts" (Sharpe) is stating that KL is going to need 15-25 games off every year going forward to make it through a season but he must be paid a Max Contract. So, how is there a misdiagnosis of a chronic medical condition? This guy is not injured in that he tore a muscle or tendon.

The team he signs with next year will not be able to ask their employee to play back to back games. Period. What a crock. Cris "Mr. Integrity" Carter the Impact Sports shill needs a good New Jersey style visit to set him straight. Once again I find it incredible that absolute morons that can't put two sentences together get these highly paid gigs.

Cris Carter was snorting coke and drinking himself out of football in his day. Yeah - what a role model.

A small point -- Wright works for Fox Sports not ESPN.
According to google he is listed as an Spurs ESPN reporter. He could work for both Fox Sports and ESPN. Anyways both networks are business partners of the NBA.

What's really annoying is that Wright all of a sudden completely changed his tune. After that podcast, he did a timvp and stated that there were even juicier tidbits that he would reveal once this blew over a little more. Yet the last tweet I saw from a him a couple days ago was something along the lines of "just a big misunderstanding, noone's fault really".

His contract just ended (or will end this Summer) with ESPN IIRC. Maybe he has a deal with Fox Sports afterwards but definitely not working for both at the same.

Either way it seems like this guy has been silenced by the powers that be from telling the truth. To me it's real sketch how he has changed his mind several times about this. First he blamed Uncle Dennis for all of this and then he said it's 50-50 and now like you said in a previous post he has stated that it's nobody's fault.

Exactly...maybe they should go ask past and present players how the Spurs handle injuries...I call bull ...just wish Tim would come out in defense of the Spurs and set the record straight because no one would question the validity of his words.

The media has always hated Tim. They would find a way to tear him down especially when it comes to propping up #2. I also believe Tim is aware of this and thus would not want to deal with all the bs that would follow.

So it's true that after they missdiagnose Kawhi they also add insult to injury by didn't supporte him and question his integrity when he said he isn't ready and needed to take the year off? The jury might be out on San Antonio

Tim is the only big Spurs who didnt say anything about this situation. And it shows that he is/was the culture.
If others would do the same, Kawhi would probably still be there.

If the lazy media would listen to Mike C. Wrights comments from last July its pretty clear where the bulk of the issues come from.

    Uncle Dennis.
    Unprofessional
    No Other Clients
    conflicts of Interest
    Hiding a paid employee

These are damning statements being made and I don't think Mike Wright was making up stuff here.

These ESPN a**holes must be as lazy as a sloth if they don't listen to an ESPN reporter and what he actually saw and dealt with first hand. Kellerman and Screamin' Smith are controlled by ESPN producers who have an agenda to ALWAYS side with the player to a fault.

What a total cluster this is. Just makes me mad. KL is going to be dealing with health issues the rest of what is left of his career - his doctors have been running the medical show for almost TWO years and he still is favoring his leg. I call BS on those fools guiding the player's career.

P*ssing on the Spurs for Sport without the full information is just par for the course with the "media" we have now.

Why would Tim say anything about Nephew? He’s retired now and probably doesn’t care who goes or who stays in SA.
