Thank you Tony.
Tony basically confirming that he didn't leave SA of his own accord. He was pushed out because of the he said about Kawhi. He said "if it's not in San Antonio, I won't want to play 2 more seasons" or something. I cannot decipher his accent.
Show me on the doll where Tony hurt you
The clutchest 50 seconds in Spurs history and one of the clutchest 50 seconds in NBA history, tbh. Game-tying three-pointer, amazing defensive play, go-ahead shot in the lane. Unfortunately, a couple dudes choked at the line but that level of clutchness in a championship moment could only really be rivaled by MJ vs the Jazz, tbh.
His first roster move was to run Kawhi out of town. Not a great track record so far.
Best finishing PG of all time. Wrong footed layups, using the rim for protection, hesitations, mastering the teardrop.
What I'll also miss about TP is he was the ultimate Spurs fan litmus test. It was easy to figure out which fans were only really fans because someone on the team hablar espanol or they decided to bandwagon midstream ... and those fans who had been around for the lean years. I've never heard of a long-time Spurs fan hate TP -- but that was almost a prerequisite for New Age Spurs fans, tbh. You could do nothing but cherish the TP years after living through the point guard nightmares previously (for example, 95 year old Terry Porter starting at PG the previous season). When AJ was a high water mark of point guard play before the TP arrived, you know your franchise is one that was thirsting for good point guard play![]()
