There are THREE BILLION people living in poverty in the world (defined as making less than $2.50 per day). I'm sure they would all like to move to the US. Are you saying that because their life sucks we should welcome them?
lol heartstrings... still don't care.

that's exactly what trannyReck is saying and all the other bs utopian day dreaming re s like shim.
what's funny about it?
My understanding is that when a violation was found on the Flores agreement, the judge instructed the administration to correct it, and it did. This is on the previous administration at least.
I don't think we should. And we should strive as a country to help them stay in theirs. We should also pursue all legal avenues to allow them to apply but remain in their countries while the process is ongoing.
All that said, once they set foot in American soil, they should be treated with respect and dignity. Just same way we would want to be treated anywhere else.
Obviously they should be treated in a case by case basis. Not everyone that applies for asylum even gets it. It's less than half the people that do.
And they have to show imminent danger to their lives. I didn't say I was for letting just anyone in. There is a process of course.
Exactly. Congress should change the rules where they cant apply by just showing up.
What alternative do you suggest? Should they hop on the wifi and apply online? Fax an asylum form?
I'm ok with that. If they cant speak English and have never seen a computer the chances of successful assimilation without becoming a burden on society are about zero.
Too late Reagan and his anti-communist assholes ed up the northern triangle 30 years ago and America's been ing around in Central America for over a century ing up those countries
Whether that's the solution or not, it doesn't excuse using fear, intimidation and sometimes outright abuse to attempt to deter applicants. It's shameful.
Funny how American exceptionalism, freedom, moral high ground, beacon of hope are all used when marketing a war. The idea that we're better than the rest and we know better.
Then we pull stunts like these internment camps, which make America look terrible. Frankly, looking exactly the opposite of what we claim to stand for.
Much like the Japanese internment camps or the ad hoc suspension of our justice system in Guantanamo, this will be a black eye on American history in the long run, and unlike those that happened while at war, there was nothing prompting this.
And for what? A campaign meme (Mexico was never going to pay for that wall, that much was clear) that backfired terribly, and a narcissistic bozo on a power trip. Ridiculous.
The lawsuit that Trump is losing?

She'll keep at it till she goes a bit too far, & then they'll be no getting back, no matter how she begs.
I think she's already done. Doubt we will see much of her once the term is up.
Oh, she will get a job in the media if she's somehow primaried out -- which seems virtually impossible thanks to the name recognition the right wing incelosphere has given her.
She'll be triggering you for decades to come.
White Dems getting painted as racist for being white. Nice. Biden, Pelosi,... Who is next?
Yes, that's why they are suing because of precedent.
