Autist Snake was trying to kill the AD deal.
I think he's guaranteed to spend more time on IR than on the court from here on. Everything evens out at some point.

Absolutely. At least one person on here gets it
Gets what? $180 mil for someone who can hit the 3? Don't be daft.

Tobias Harris for 5 more years on a max deal is easily worse than DeRozan for 2 years

Harris's deal is almost John Wall bad..

For the record, I would not have re-signed Harris for a max contract. I would have let him walk. If he took a big discount and also fit on the team, maybe I would have considered it re-signing him to the right deal, but no way would I ever give him max money. Not sure what Philadelphia was thinking there.

Who said anything about 180 million? Regardless, Harris is a much more valuable basketball player than ing DeMar DeRozan

That's what it costs these days for ing Tobias Harris. Figure it out.

    https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/...ove-clips-deal

So Leonard gave the Raptors the chance to get a deal with OKC but they couldn’t match what the Clippers could.

In a wild night of negotiations, Presti leveraged the Clippers and Raptors off each other, preying on the uncertainties of what the other might be willing to give Oklahoma City for the chance to secure Leonard and George -- and perhaps the inside track on a championship.

Clippers leadership -- Ballmer, Frank and general manager Michael Winger -- harbored fears that Presti was close to striking a deal with Toronto that would have delivered George to Leonard and the NBA champions, sources said.

Had Presti been able to strike a deal for George with Toronto -- and Leonard was willing to stay -- George was believed to be willing to join the Raptors, sources said. Presti pursued a package of Russell Westbrook and George to the Raptors -- with the NBA's Most Improved Player, forward Pascal Siakam, as the centerpiece of a broader, asset-crippling deal -- but Ujiri couldn't keep up with the Clippers' willingness to unload unprotected first-round picks into the middle of the next decade, league sources said. Simply, Toronto didn't have the depth of picks it needed to get a deal done -- nor the certainty that getting George would make Leonard stay with the Raptors, sources said.

Still much better than if he went to the Lakers but man that Bev-Nephew-PG13 perimeter defense is going to be nasty, tbh.
Just glad the helmet crew is eating right now.

    Patfo! Patfo! Patfo!
    Porker and Manure's comments
    They didn't gib him talent

And all that other bull . He left a in' le team in an Eastern Conference where the only compe ion for the next half decade would be the Bucks and maybe Sixers (they set themselves back with the Tobias Harris contract), He had a roster filled with young talent and solid vets, and would be playing in a city that would worship him and for a wet blanket coach who bows to his whims. Didn't matter. LA was the goal. Always was the goal. Common enemies, strange bedfellows and all that, so at how he and Dennis manipulated the Lakers, but the way they strung the Lakers along so they'd miss out on FAs gives insight into how sneaky that camp is.

at anyone who though PATFO was the villain in this situation.

Well, at least there's more parity in the league next season.

But do the Spurs even make the playoffs?

    Lakers
    Clippers
    Warriors
    Jazz
    Rockets
    Trail Blazers
    Nuggets
    Mavericks

    Spurs?
No way GSW or Dallas makes it over the Spurs, that is silly to me. OKC may still be better than those two teams.

First the nba should so north south divisions so they can move the clips, warriors, timby, port, as we get Hawks, magic, Charlotte , and heat. Level things out. Or do quarters and change focus every other year (ie SW plays NW or se but rarely ne)

I am in the camp where this is good news for the Spurs. The young core of the Clips that played so hard has been broken up. The Clips like the Lakers are just a two star team. This is going to move the NBA back to team ball. The best team to play team ball is going to win it all. I put Utah at the top of the west because of their intelligent play. The Spurs have a chance if Pop can get DDR to be more cerebral. We potentially have the best defensive backcourt in the NBA with Murray, and White.

And having DeRozan now for 2 years is better than letting him walk. The Spurs are not that far from contention in this new west. If their youth take big enough steps this year then there's no they can't compete. Is it likely that they'll be a top 4 seed in the West, no. Is it possible, yeah, it actually is.

Plus DeRozan has value if teams get desperate.

    Wow.

    I'm still processing, tbh.

Thunder appear to be a pretty big winner too because they get a Herschel Walker type deal for PG13 and that could pull them out of mediocrity.
Thunder should start over and trade russel

Young studs? Simmons? Anderson? Dedmon? Those guys are trash and possibly out of the league after their current contract is up. Gasol is rightfully gone. Mills sucks but no front office is perfect. The spurs are in a good position now for the future. Let derozan and Aldridge be place holders until the youth is ready. But some people are only happy if they about everything

I think you are mixing up 'star or superstar level' with 'elite'. Elite is around the top 20%, in any context, NBA included.

Consider that very soon Max level contracts available will be (at least) one per team. There will soon be more max contracts than all-star players in every given year...

Gallinari is just there, one of the top 80. Nothign more, but nothing less. And yes DDR (whom I want gone, btw) is better than Gallo, but overall only slightly.

(Lebron is worse than Gallinari on defense tbh)
Elite is around the top 20% in ANY CONTEXT? Really?

So a school like the University of Southern Mississippi is considered an elite university because it’s ranked in the top 20% of schools in the US?
