Bertans was the guy to trade to obtain a good player in return. 7M expiring contract with long range shot. But Spurs gave away to open a roster and do a sign & trade.

Bryn Forbes is the other guy with good trade value that they cannot match in the free agency.

I have to say in EricB's defense, it is unreasonable to expect him to check in with a friend, contact, sauce, or even family in the middle of the night.

Wouldn't Forbes be full bird because he's been on the team three seasons?

They couldn't since they had already come to an agreement with Carroll. It's between Bertans and Morris and I'd rather have Morris.
Would you rather have Bertans or Carroll?

I hope so, Bryn is a good backup PG that can replace Patty in the 2nd unit but so many teams overpaid Spurs players in the free agency.

    I guess Faried's 3P% is technically up the past two years . . .
Would actually be interesting; he can play some 5 if needed. Would give some extra versatility to the big men...

The Spurs aren't going to go back on an agreement and piss off agents and players. Hard enough getting free agents without starting that show.

for the record I’d rather have Carroll. Doesn’t look like a car dealership inflatable man when he tries to move laterally

I don't even want DD touched. We're deep af, with plenty of quality combo forwards to throw at LeBron, Giannis, Neph, PG, etc. Just give it a shot with this roster. You never know.

Somebody posted a tweet about a guy saying there were some major rumblings inside the Spurs organization a couple of days ago. Now this. I don't think Belli and Metu being traded would cause a rumbling (if true). It really could be Derozan or even Aldridge. With Morris and Carroll on board and Lonnie looking good enough to play 3 since were so stacked at the 1 and 2, moving DD makes a lot of sense considering we will eventually have to pay all these young gaurds plus Poeltl and Samanic money in the next 2-3 years. They might even be trading ALDRIDGE at this point (he's made it clear he wants back in Portland) and a 3pt shooting forward could be his replacement.

Overall small or big move, I'm excited about the future. Lonnie really must've shown Pop and the coaches something in practice this offseason. His games speak for themselves (Clearly All-star potential).

Apparently the possible trade will more than likely only include Belinelli. Source doesn't know for who still or if it's a sign and trade worked out with Boston for Marcus Morris. If I receive any more information I'll definitely post.

A big move isn't DD -- his stock is pretty low around the league right now. LaMarcus even more so at his age. An actual big move is White, Walker, or Murray (probably plus cap ballast of some kind) for a legitimate asset.

Spurs looking to get a forward who can shoot from beyond the arc.
That describes a wide range of player types. From the pure 3 or 4 to the classic 2/3 swingman, the 3/4 tweener, or the 4/5 with a J. While in today's NBA I don't think you can have too many 3/4 tweener combo forwards, I wouldn't be surprised to see the target be a 4 or a 4/5.

It's a big move in terms of how much money those two make

Makes sense if for Morris, but the Spurs would have to send out more than Belinelli to make it work.

No mention of Mills being included, which sucks, but I'll take it.
After reading some on here, my guess is they are trying to just get depth and a player that plays the role they had for Davis. A one dimensional shooter forward is better for them than a one dimensional SG/SF like Belli when they are looking to free up playing time for their promising youth.

Belli is going to get a lot of DNP when everyone is healthy and he is in a contract season again. He needs to play to stay in the league and get another deal.

It’s possible Belli’s agent wants to get him playing time. If that’s the case the forward they are looking for is just a depth player. Can be someone under the radar like Jerebko.

I actually want to know who will the Spurs trade for? I think they're set on their roster unless they really want to move on from Aldridge and DD

    DD + Beli + ??? For K Love

For : The money works. K Love can shoot the 3.

Against : Would require the FO to be aciously confident in the young guards. CLE would want picks (plural) as well...

    Can't see it happening myself.

Metu? I'm still not sure that's enough.

If it means having Morris locked up for 2 years (third year player option, S&T has to be at least a 3 year deal) then I'm all for it.
