I guess there is the possibility that Bullock really does have something debilitating and the knicks are doing him a solid in not specifying exactly what that is? Maybe that's the nicks leverage against Bullock?
I’m gonna guess that most ST posters will accept Morris back with open arms if the Knicks deal falls through?

Not me - I don’t want him anymore. It’s too big a character issue for me to overlook. This is not some innocent case of something happening with a light-hearted and understandable change of heart for good reason. This is some next level f*ckery
Good point. But don't forget that every FA that signs with the Knicks gets an autographed CD of JD & The Straight Shot:
So, old boy make a decision yet?
I'd take him. Everything pointed to a one year deal anyway since he and his agent think they can get their best deal before the big free agent summer. Contract year Morris would be as good as any option right now. prayingdog.gif for Luka's development and get on with it.
Youve got to be fckn kidding me with this bs

I can see people thinking that if you are looking at basketball only (which I believe most probably do). I just think this is bigger than that with how it’s gone down and it’s crossed a line to me personally. But my guess is SA would be happy to have him for the reasons you stated.
If they really did have something and that much leverage, this would have been over days ago.
It might help general perception of the Spurs among players if they remain gracious. In my heart of hearts I just want to steal Bullock now and figure out another PF later.
Yep. Knicks probably didn't think through something basic in their master plan, such as the possibility that Bullock wouldn't go for a change in terms or that he would seek out a second opinion.
Even if they are successful, it's still Reggie Bullock and Marcus Morris.
This is how the Knicks are able to suck hard despite seemingly having many advantages.
There is a strong belief from within the New York Knicks organization that they can acquire free agent forward Marcus Morris while also being able to renegotiate their deal with sharpshooting swingman Reggie Bullock, according to a report by SNY’s Ian Begley.
The Knicks originally had agreed to a two-year, $21 million deal with Bullock, with a player option on the second year, but an unknown medical issue has caused New York to reconsider its offer to the six-year guard.
The Knicks and Bullock’s camp are still engaged in negotiating the new deal, and the team is confident they can get this sorted out anytime soon.
If Bullock will agree to take a pay cut on his new deal, then it might just pave the way to the Knicks signing Morris.
Morris has already agreed to a two-year. $20 million deal with the San Antonio Spurs, but the veteran forward is thinking about backing out because the Knicks’ offer of $15 million in one year looks more appealing to him. However, this could hurt the Spurs big time, as they have already traded stretch forward Davis Bertans to the Washington Wizards and renegotiated DeMarre Carroll’s contract just to accommodate Morris.
If the Knicks are serious in acquiring Morris, they will have to convince Bullock to take the nearly $4.8 million room exception.
If Bullock somehow agrees to take the room exception, the Knicks would then be able to free up close to $15 million in cap space, which they would then use to lure Morris away from the Spurs.
Report saying the Knicks they are confident Morris will sign with them.
It would be funnier if the Knicks ended up signing Bullock to the intended deal and Spurs moved on and used the MLE somewhere else. Morris would be forced to sign with the Hornetsor Dallas I guess if they wanted him
Come on Reggie, don't be a little and take that from NY. Get your money son
exactly, gotta play the long game. I guess the Knicks are trying to negotiate with Bullock to take the Room Exception but him and his agent should know that they are only looking for him to take a bargain deal so they can sign Morris. The longer this takes the better for the Spurs.
They were confident they were getting Zion/KD/Kyrie a few months ago too![]()
Why? Knicks would just get Morris as consolation prize and the better player. I think the Spurs just wait for both to out raised each other before collecting the side bet.
the Knicks were confident to get KD, Kawhi, Kyrie, Zion...this is the worst front office in the NBA we're talking about. I mean if they were smart they wouldn't put Bullock ahead of Morris in the first place. And they definitely wouldn't sign 4 PFs
Except theres nobody else to spend the mle on
And Jalen Rose was "99% sure" that Kawhi was going back to Toronto two days before he signed with the Clips.
Sports journalism is a joke these days. I wouldn't believe anything until I see the pen hit the paper these days.
