Good to know thanks.
Always in the market for diamonds in the rough.
So I've never had this stuff, but I tried it a buddies house a couple days ago and found it drinks pretty good for a typical evening bourbon. Then I found out a fifth runs about 12 bucks and I was sold. Picked some up on the way home. Its good on the rocks but I think it would be good with a splash of ginger or sweet vermouth as well if you are a mixer. If you are a bourbon guy and want something solid on the cheap I recommend it.
Good to know thanks.

Evan Williams Bottled in Bond (white label, 100 proof) is usually my go to. It's also ~$12 for a fifth. It's not always stocked at smaller liquor stores, they just have the standard 86 proof stuff, but it can usually be found at bigger places like Specs, Total Wine, etc.
Nice, I’ll have to give this one a shot
imo tho, Wild Turkey 101 is the alpha male of decently priced bourbon tbh.
getting wasted on a Tuesday night
Nobody in this thread said they were "getting wasted", dumbass.
afraid of your own shadow
I'll check for this next time I go to Spec's. I'm always looking for a good bourbon to match with a cigar.
You have no idea how to be a grown ass man. What's a matter Andrew, hard to get up for an 11am shift at the Bed, Bath and Body Works after "getting wasted" on a 6 pack of Pabst while listening to Maroon 5 with your fat wife in your dingy studio apartment?
Well don't go in with super high expectations from a complexity standpoint. For the money, it's better than expected. A half gallon will likely run about 25. If you were headed to a gtg and wanted to bring a bottle to contribute it's a great choice.
Doesn't need to be top shelf to match with a wood-tipped black and mild.
^
I laughed way too hard at this
Stock up bro...it's gonna be another long season with O'brien at the helm.
Your tolerance must be for .

I know it's a hard concept to imagine getting off of work on a weekday and sitting down with a whiskey/bourbon to unwind.. one of these days you'll become a man
I do the same thing except with a nice soda... whisky/bourbon is nasty to me. Only if I'm already wicked drunk at a party at someone else's place... 3-4x a year. Basically the idea of paying solid money to consume throat-burning poison is a non-starter to me.
Andy you're like a little kid.
Gotcha. Have you tried 1835? The sales guy in spec's convinced me to buy a bottle and that is nasty asf.
I have no idea what he's doing in this thread tbh
Haven't...but will avoid
You don't wanna skimp when it comes America's greatest whiskey.
Life's too short for cheap bourbon.
America
Naa... the standards are pretty high by just labeling the bottle Straight Bourbon. There are plenty of really good budget options out there. Stepping up to the $20-40 price point opens up even more options... but beyond that is like chasing unicorns and the price is not proportional to how much better the product is IMO.
