They're going all in on continuity
Perhaps Captain Tyron, Fred Beard and Zack Flack campaigned for him. Problem is he's already 26 so he'll be 32 almost 33 when he's a FA again so the Cowboys are once again pushing the can perhaps too far on these deals.
They're going all in on continuity
From what I've seen on Twitter, Zeke's deal gives the Cowboys an out in year 4 that will not impact the cap too much. We'll see what the numbers actually look like when the full details are released.
Jeez Jerry is an idiot.
If you were going to bend over and take it, then take it before camp.
It's really not a bad deal. Added on to his current deal it makes it a 8 year deal at 108 mil, which is an average of 13.5 which is what Le'veon Bell got.
but he already had some of those years locked in, so thats a really weird way of looking at it![]()
Great
garrett still head coach
meaning...
another 8-8 season!
ZEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKE!!!!!!!!!!!!
#13-3
#WinNowBaby
So you think that thanks to this contract they'll go 13-3 and get to the super bowl.
I thought they'd go 13-3 in the regular season with Zeke and 8-8 without him.
Getting to the SB is another story. Luck (not Andrew), health, coaching, and the referees will play a bigger factor in the playoffs.
What was over rated Elliot purportedly asking for vs what he got?
With Garret as HC I see another playoff ouster.
Hopefully Cooper and Maliek Collins are next.
No-interceptions Byron Jones and Prescott can hit the road after this year.
He's on pace to be an all time great, he's durable, he avoids the big hits.. the question is.. Does he want to be known as an all time great? At that price he must lead the league again and win an MVP. If Dallas goes 13-3 and he's leading the league again I think it can happen.
But definitely gotta wonder about Houston.. mortgaged their future for an average LT and a WR who's priority is probably not football, and didn't get in return for Clowney while on the hook for 7 million..
Maliek Collins is highly replaceable in the draft.. his replacement is probably already on the roster.
all the numbers. Bottom line, if he continues on this pace he's been on dating back to Ohio State the deal is worth it. He's strong and has been on the field his entire career (other than Goodell flexing his might out of anger that Jerrah dare question his fast tracked contract extension). The team is clearly trying to preserve him some, relief drafting Pollard as well.
Probably the guy on the practice squad they made a tough cut at the last minute to cut... Daniel Wise. That kid looked like a stud in preseason.
Only thing about Collins is his extensive injury past... especially those foot injuries for such a big man. If he balls out like a David Irving, we may have to keep him. He was born and raised in KC so I suggested trading him and a pick for their DT Chris Jones who I think is a star in the makings (because they won't be able to pay, because Mahomes, Hill and a generally overpaid supporting cast). Marinelli loves that star at 3-Tech DT and Chris Jones would provide that for us.
zeke is truly great, one of the few RB's that actually justifies a first round pick in the draft. but he's under contract now through 2026... thats a long-ass time for a running back, especially one as physical as him
the huge guarantees really means you cant even be looking to cut him until 2024 or so. but if the cap continues to grow as it has, 15 mil for a RB might not be that unreasonable by the mid 2020s tbh

Note: The first two years of the deal are fully guaranteed, totaling $28 million at signing. The base salaries in 2021 and 2022 become fully guaranteed on the fifth day of the league years in 2020 and 2021.EDIT: doesn't say here but it's being said a suspension can void a lot of things.$7.5M signing bonus with a $13M option bonus in 2020

Suspension for NFL disciplinary reasons and the Cowboys should be able to cause to void all guarantees and have him pay back his entire signing bonus. Seriously.
Jerry wants to win another super bowl before he dies, but his qb is still dak
One more year of Dak, one "lean" year of Rush, and then we get Trevor Lawrence. Lol
Maybe he should consider quitting eating Popeye's chicken so he can extend his life.
Cowboys haven't had an 8-8 season since '13. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
You know that's never gonna happen, right?
